Rich Snippets being removed

I had to research this a bit to find some interesting feedback out there.

It looks like this started to happen back in May for some people.

Additionally, it would seem if google is reading the same blogs where people report on how to create multiple stars, then they are more than likely keying off of that information and data to remove them as well.

Very interesting read. I made my own star rating system after I read about microformats, but I'm yet to launch a website that really makes use of it. Dave's suggestion seems with merit, maybe they're filtering the obvious first, or maybe just being more strict with websites that use the same plugins (kinda like a microformat dance, eh?).

I don't suppose the google bots are voting themselves, but do you have a way to verify this?. That would be the fastest way for them to check if the systems are somewhat rigged or look for inconsistencies.

This sort of "10 Star" rating would really stand out and definitely get a persons attention.

It shows G is seeing the code the same on my site and on other sites, but the other sites keep their stars and my site loses them.

My site must fit a certain profile that G has set for eliminating the stars.

Does anyone have an example of WP sites having stars for over a month?

Most of the sites Im looking at with stars are on different platforms.

Same thing happened to me. I had to change the code and now it works perfectly. Make sure that you're using: <div itemprop = 'reviews' itemscope itemtype='http://schema.org/Review'>

Even Google had it wrong in their tutorial as the code they write is incorrect.

As far as i could figure stars are being removed from sites and pages they don't like any more (pandas and penguins)
