Better than Hostgator?

Never had a problem with hostgator in 3+ years.

I would still go for Hostgator. Reasonably priced plus great Customer Support.

All depends on what your needs are. If you want some of the highest quality hosting available, then http://rackspace.com/

Hostgator is the best and for sure and from experience you can't find better hosting then HG

How many unique visitors can my site get on the basic hatchling plan wit gator?

Anyone can give an answer to this question? I would also like to know this as well. Thanks!

I'm pertaining to a not so heavy wordpress blog.

The Hatchling, Baby, and Business shared plans all give you the same resources - same hardware, same unlimited disk space and bandwidth, same limits on CPU usage, and so on. They differ from each other only in things like whether you can use addon domains, whether you get a free SSL cert, and so on.

So if a shared plan isn't robust enough to handle your site, you're faced with the "VPS or dedicated" choice. Moving up to a more expensive shared plan won't make any difference.

You can get a similar price on VPS hosting with ServInt - they're pretty fast too
