Wordpress Theme Install Error?

When I upload wordpress I keep getting a install error that "style.css is missing" this happens to a lot of templates anyone know what I need to do?

Check and see if there is a sub folder you should be zipping and uploading instead of the whole file.

Which theme you are using ? Is it compatible with Wordpress version you are using ?

This is almost always due to not unzipping/unraring your files correctly. If you download a theme, don't assume you can just upload it to wordpress and it work. There is often other things zipped/rar'd up with the theme like documentation, PSDs, plugins, etc. Extract your initial download and see what's inside. If there's another theme zip file, upload that instead.

Yup your right I got it fixed. Have to go in and grab the other folder and then it into a .zip

style.css is the "tag-name" of a wordpress theme. maybe you uploading process been interrupted.

it's just one theme or all theme.
another theme is download and run them.
i think your zip file is missing.
