Newb Question

Hey Everyone,

I've been reading non stop all everything I can from BHW looking to see where I can start to make my world in the internet marketing world. I finally decided that I should start with Youtube before I even go about making my own site. But I have some questions that after searching around the forum for a bit I haven't seen answered.

1- If I want to make several different videos from various topics, say sports, gardening, cooking, etc. Do I have to make SEPERATE youtube accounts to keep them from getting mixed up? Would this affect my profits?

2- I see everyone talking about CPA's to make money on Youtube. Is this the only way? I have heard of Youtube contacting several users to post ads in their vids and they get paid for it. Is there a similar more white hat tactic other than using CPA's?

That's it for now, I just can't seem to wrap my finger around this starting point.

Splitting up the channels would be best for user-friendliness, but you lose out on the subscribers because they won't be shared among all of your channels. So basically you would need to build each channel up on its own, instead of one centralized channel which is less user-friendly but easier to market.

However, you can just link your channels together and direct your users to other channels if their interests overlap, that way you can try to get the same person subscribed to multiple channels. Many vloggers do this, i.e. direct users to their other channels (such as a life channels, gaming channel, etc.) at the end of all of their videos and in the video descriptions.

Aside from CPA and being a YouTube partner to get money, you could always just redirect your visitors to your website (one website where everything is separated into categories), and your viewers could subscribe to your mailing list and select which topics they want to get mail about, then you can market various products (CPA, ClickBank, direct affiliate) or just more tips and information for them down the road.

Linking them to my future website would be ideal but for now, since I'm just starting I want to try out Youtube first, besides my knowledge is very basic when it comes to making a website, furthest I ever got was a blog like 6 years ago when I was a teen so that whole make a mailing list sounds a bit complicated to me.

I'm actually partnering up with a friend of mine to hopefully get this project started, we're each doing research by reading BHW nonstop. In your opinion being a Youtube partner is more of a white hat method correct? How hard is it to actually become one, and how long would it take? I'm asking because we're looking to actually build this for the long haul rather than the black hat methods which seem to get people's accounts closed from YouTube.

Actually making partner now is actually harder than before. You have to actually make 'good' content with hard core views to become one. your best bet would just get chained by a network. That being said I don't really get what you're doing, you're going to mass upload real content? and you're doing several categories? If you really intend to do that just keep in mind that is VERY time effective. Even with a partner you'd waste hours daily...

The original idea is to make some original content, in basically 2 categories. One my friend would help me and the other my wife would help me. Since the categories have NOTHING to do with one another, I was going to use 2 different YouTube accounts, something that worries me because I'm hearing its hard to become partner, so if I have to make 2 separate accounts it means its going to be twice as hard. Unless of course there's a work around that I dont know of for this.

Now after devouring this site, I may switch to some of the black hat methods first, and then pursue the original idea in a month or two.

When you say chained by a network, I think you're referring to CPA's correct? As far as I know most CPA's want their members to point users into filling some sort of form out. Are there any different types of CPA's, maybe ones that pay only for per the amount of views? I did read somewhere where a user hinted at this but never really got into details. If this is in fact true then I would contact this CPA for the my first original idea where the original content would be displayed.

I know I'm going on a bit of a rant here its just that I have all these ideas in my head now and I really don't have a 100% vision in which to way to proceed. Today I'm off from work so I'm going to see if I create a YouTube account and start uploading links to movies and hopefully get a CPA that pays for that traffic because I hear not all of them allow it. Would you recommend this as a good first project for a newb like me?

Are you not sure about signing a contract with a network? I would rather sign with a network then G themselves to be honest. In a sense your less likely to loose your Adsense account and you can actually earn more money ( IMO ) Some networks pay higher than others but depending on your content you will be limited to which networks you can pick from. Have you looked on Social Blade yet to see what is available?

How do you intend to drive traffic to your Youtube? Natural views or view enhancers?

First time that I even hear about Social Blade. I just went there and a looked around a bit, which network do you recommened for a newb like myself going into maybe providing links to apps or links to hd movie downloads?

I intend to drive traffic by posting on forums and such, and if I have to then also implement view enchancers.

Create one channel put all your efforts into it with all your content, push out with many videos to gain subscribers, once established, delete the rubbish videos you made and keep the quality ones, hit up a network although i personally recommend not doing this as going alone you will make more money. Also you could use CPA offers in your videos and not have to worry what a network would think. Just my 2 cents.

Ok so networks ONLY sign original content?

What I was going to do is have to projects, project 1 - original content, thats where the 2 channels would be.

project 2- make videos for links for apps, or movies, etc. Which would be the CPA videos.

So with project one, I would use the CMS networks like you mentioned. Which one would you recommened because I keep reading about Machinima and fullscreen a lot. How do they pay, just per views?

So you suggest NOT joining a network such as Fullscreen, machinima, etc, because I will make more money with the CPA offers?

I would def want to try this for my 2nd project. Which CPA offer would you recommend for someone trying to give out links to apps and maybe links to watch movies and such?
