Kim Dotcom has announced the return of MegaUpload.
MegaUpload boss, Kim Dotcom, has announced via his Twitter account that his file locker empire will be making a comeback.
This comes after much controversy between him and the New Zealand/U.S. Governments. There are no further details yet about how he plans to make his comeback, but we figure he has found loopholes in copyright laws in different countries to run his company. For those hoping to recover files lost in the raid, there is no mention yet as to how past users will be assisted.
Over the past few months, Kim Dotcom has turned from villian to what people are now calling the ?Internet Freedom Fighter? after MegaUpload was shut down under a number of questionable circumstances. He and his band of men are facing charges for copyright infringement, but the U.S. has yet to extradite him after Dotcom?s lawyers were able to punch a number of holes in the investigation.
Some questionable actions included the seizure of a number of unrelated assets include his fleet of Mercedes Benzs, a helicopter, and a number of expensive pieces of technological equipment. New Zealand?s Court Judge, Justice Helen Winkelmann has since ruled that those items must be returned since they have no relation to the matter. She also stated that cloning hard drives and shipping them to the U.S. without permission was also illegal and called the admissibility of the evidence in later extradition hearings into question.
So what does Kim have planned up his sleeve? We shall wait and see.
