I just came across PaySimple.com while reverse engineering a competitor?s website. They seem like they could be a solution as opposed to dealing with Paypal. Their standard fees are as follows.

  • $34.95 per month plus transaction fees
  • Mastercard, Visa, Discover = 2.39% + $.29
  • American Express = 2.89% + $.15
  • EChecks (via ACH processing) .$55

Do any of you have any direct firsthand experience using PaySimple?

I?m finding that by the time you add up and compare the fees, PaySimple beats out Fastspring, 2Co, and a number of other payment processors. Their fees are also on par with PayPal. But the biggest issue would be no concerns about getting your money, a.ka., withdrawing YOUR money from PayPal. We all know how PayPal feels about withdrawals and how they feel about spikes in sales and how they are known to respond.

My primary question is how merchants who use PaySimple view them; particularly merchants from our side of the Internet landscape. I?m putting together a list of questions to fire at PaySimple and would like any input BHW members can provide.

I'm not having any issues with PP either, however, I just had another friend who did everything by the book, still end up getting limited by PayPal, which is yet another wake up call.

Ive personally switch from paypal to sagepay and find them great, one of the best customer service teams Ive ever come across and haven't really seen a drop in conversions which is of huge importance.

Worth checking them out !

Never heard this one... paypal sucks? get a merchant account?

What do you mean by this?

The problem is, few websites support this payment gateway.

What payment gateway are you referring to, please explain?

PayPal also has a monthly fees. See: https://cms.paypal.com/cgi-bin/marketingweb?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=merchant/merchant_fees

It costs $30.00 p/m for PayPal Payments Pro and $5.00 p/m for PayPal Payments Advanced. If you are not paying a fee, that means you only have a standard PayPal account.

So no one uses PaySimple?
