Anyone into nootropics?

ive tried piracetam before. took it 6 months with citocholine and didnt notise anything... but it made the hangover go away if I had been out drinking... nothing more

It's just not the way the nature works and your brain is 100% natural. You CANNOT skip the steps on the ladder!

Maybe and maybe not, humans can be the masters of their evolution, your brain is 100% chemical. ;-) http://www.longecity.org/forum/page/index.html is a forum for those interested.

to be precise, it's electro-chemical ;).
Maybe and maybe not, but based on some principles like law of the natural balance I simply don't believe it that you can get away with it in the long run.
It's interesting subject though.

Does this stuff even work? Anyone tried noopept?

@Mutikasa

Sorry to post in a three week old thread

I oppose the notion that one cannot benefit from supplements or drugs in the long term, in fact in my life experience I have observed the exact opposite. Changing diet and brain chemistry is certainly a part of evolution.

Everything we have achieved as a civilization is the product of mental activity - that's what sets us apart from the animal kingdom, yet we are pitifully unaware of our neurology and the inner workings and methods of manipulation of our minds. I think we, as a civilization, are being held hostage by accepting drugs as taboo. People are just extremely and inadequately, in my opinion, neurotic when it comes to anything which might affect their mind, which isn't corporate media or entertainment, alcohol or coffee.

I challenge you to show me what long-term negative effects the drugs in question can have.

I would say that since our brains are electro-chemical, then they can constantly run if we knew how they operated and had infinite resources.

1. Piracetam (+choline bitartrate) - tasted like shit, felt a bit jittery/on edge, didn't really feel any improvement in cognition/mood/motivation or anything. And I took a lot for a good while.

2. Provigil - tastes like shit but at least you only have to take tablets not heaped teaspoons like piracetam. Felt a bit of a warm, energetic sensation inside but not really that pleasurable at all, enjoyed music slightly more than normal, was hyper for about 4 hours then died down. Couldn't sleep but didn't feel 'right' not sleeping. Your body needs sleep. After 24 hours of no sleep had some disturbing thoughts of stabbing myself (never had this before). Went to sleep finally and I was ok after. Never took that crap again.

3. L-Carnitine (ALCAR) - tasted ok, bitter lemon taste, felt a bit jittery and on edge. No real changes in cognition.

I've taken loads of other stuff but they would be classed as drugs rather than nootropics, I suppose Provigil is a drug really. None of this shit is worth it in my opinion, you have to train your mind to be motivated, focused and productive even in the face of grave adversity.

I've only tried Piracetam + Lecithin and I didn't notice much effects from them when combined, but I quit taking the Lecithin and noticed that things were easier to recall, as if when trying to remember something my brain got a processor upgrade or something. I also noticed no difference between small(like 2/3 tsp) and large doses(1 heaping tbsp).
