Hey Cash whats going on dude.. Im just down the road from you in the castle hill area if you know where that is?
Anyways just wanted to say a big thank you for this thread, its a really big help. Literally spent the whole of yesterday going through the entire thread and taking notes... but I have a few questions if thats okay..
When submitting the manual web2.0s, do we have to submit them using a different proxy? I am a complete nub with all this stuff so just trying to get my head around it all.. but from what I have read up on everyone says that your links should be coming from different IPs. I currently have like834 odd links pointing to my domain from only 34 referring ips as per majestic SEO. Im paying a guy to coach me for the next 6 months and he said that this is bad and I should have more diversity.
Would I get this from using proxies to create the web2.0s.
I know you say use 1 proxy to create all the tier 1 etc links.. would that mean all the links would be referred to my domain from only 1 ip?
I have a very strong feeling I made absolutely no sense just now so feel free to let me know that im talking sh1t at any point hahaha
Everybody was a newbie at some point. Some just forget it too quickly.
What this different IP means is the following. IP is a global number assigned to computes on
the Internet. Each public server has one. It looks like 192.168.0.1 (four numbers).
Humans are really bad at actually remembering numbers so Internet founding fathers created
Domain Name System (DNS). It maps domain names like
www.google.com to IP addresses like
192.168.0.1. There can be more than one domains pointing to the single IP address and web
server takes care of displaying the correct web site based on the domain name.
When you have a link from 34 IPs, it means web sites on 34 different servers link to you. More
servers - more different people like you - better link profile - better ranking.
For example you might create 100 Wordpress blogs on different domains like crap1.wordpress.com,
crap2.wordpress.com, ... crap100.wordpress.com. So you have 100 domains but they all may sit on
one IP address (the same server) .
What you coach meant is that the more various IPs you've got, the better. This means you need to
post to more different platforms and not hammer any one with links too much. I agree with it.
Is has nothing to do with proxies and using proxies will not put your links on more server. Proxies are
for arse covering. For example your IP is 192.168.0.1 and you create "too much" links according to some
arsehole website owner and they report this IP to some "let's make the shit right according to our
bullshit set of rules" spam database. Late on this may prevent you from posting to some sites
as they check your IP against this database and brand you as "spammer".
What proxy server does is, it sits between you and server and what arsehole webmaster sees is
10.1.1.1 which is IP of the proxy server that hides your real IP 192.168.0.1. This way you don't
get into the spam database and you don't get blocked.
I wouldn't use proxy for Web 2.0s. Better get yourself HideMyAss VPN. They cover your arse and change
IPs periodically.
