STOP using Gmail, please

What's wrong with you....google knows everything...they know our shit...and we know their shit...we take a beating once in a while we cus...fret etc that's just the game. Fact is google has big sites with alot of black hat links that pay them a hefty amount in advertizing. So don't hide from google they are no angle. Everything online is blackhat. Why do you even care about hiding. There is no such thing as white hat anymore...White had means building a site posting great stuff and leaving the site to evolve on its own by keeping it up to date with relevant content....WHO THE HELL DOES THAT AND MAKES MONEY.

whatever, google already watching all of us. If you use google chrome - You are being watched, if you use google.com you are being watched . whatever :D

I stopped using them months ago (since Feb this year), having your email at your own domain is much better

And backing it up often helps too :)

You better stop thinking of Google as a search engine, they are moving to a different level now,
This new program they are bringing in, will give them more opportunities to sell ad space on search.
Soon you will need to click three of 4 times before you arrive at a website. By that time google will have shown them all the available ads, all above the fold.

If they bring this off, we can kiss our adsence goodbye.

As far as then using the data, in your email, I dont think they are using it against us yet, but its only a matter of time.

Its been a very easy way to get your backlinks indexed.

Google arent going after us, to make it better for their users, They want to do away with everybody,

If they keep going this direction, the only way to get any information on google is by clicking on their ads

If your that concern about it don't use sites that use GA or any G products.

I use gmail, I use chrome, have G+ on all my google accounts, login to adsense daily and will always use a google service if it is available. This worry is so beyond unfounded that I'm insulted to even hear people agreeing with it.

Some serious lack of intelligence here. Google does not read your emails. Even if they did, those reports you're receiving are the same links you want indexed, it would happen faster in that case.

Actually - they do: But only if your on the most wanted terrorist list :)

Since some weeks now Google reads Email to show relevant ads to email account now they are detecting link building service to get them down if it's true strange looks like we are using Public Email accounts (Public to Google only :D)

I am not using Gmail for any of our link building service we use our domain email accounts ;)

I think if it's true then it Violates some Countries User privacy and policy terms i think UK have it not sure correct me

Just bcz G is the biggest, what makes you think that HM or Y are not also doing the same?

I don't think anyone's that bothered if Y or HM read our blackhat SEO emails and demote our rankings on yah00 or b1ng but if G read our emails and demote our rankings on G...

Yes, I always had this suspicion. I hated the fact that when people send me reports of my links they never zip the file and upload the .CVS directly to gmail and as you all know google has "google docs" and I hate the fact that they have a copy of all my newly built links.

So if what you are saying is true, I could get a competitors email address, send them an email from my gmail account that says something like:

Thank you for purchasing our blackhat link building service, your order has been processed and received. Transaction #SJ609A499.

You have now received backlinks from the following sites:

(List the backlinks)

For the keyword "Keyword Here" (Use SEMrush or similar tool)

And google will then remove my competitor? Do you have any proof of this, or what are they doing exactly that would be used to hurt your site that couldn't be used to hurt any other site?

Actually - they do: But only if your on the most wanted terrorist list :)

Well yes, but that's more in the domain of your government.

They use an algorithm to generate relevant ads, no one reads them. That would be illegal.

In a thread like this one can see just how differently people can reason when given exactly the same information. I totally agree with those who refuse to give Google easy access to their confidential documents.

As for the others, well, some people will never be ready for knowledge that indites their beloved Google although it is plainly stated in Google's TOS that they have the right to use your information to improve their services and protect their clients.

What highest and best use for this info is there except it be to cleanse their index of blackhat-supported links and sites.

Let the nay-sayers continue to give all their info to the privacy-trampling beast Google. It will help the rest of us in the long run by reducing their ability to compete.

So for my part i won't accept services that use gmail or Docs to conduct their business.

I don't think anyone has claimed that Google manually reads people's emails or documents.

They don't need to do that to get enough info to conclude that people are up to something fishy.

Let me put this to rest. The same people who can create an algorithm to crawl and index sites, and know what's on these sites, well, those same people can create an algorithm to crawl emails and google docs to determine what's there, and what sites, if any, are linked to from the email or document crawled. It's a simple matter.

And guess what?.....it's all being done automatically!

So if people want to believe that only in this case is Google not an information glutton, that's their business. It' just not good business IMO.

Could you please address my question in post #34 then please? If what you say is true, what type of safeguards are there to ensure that the information contained in the email is legitimate and not used from a competitor to sabotage a site?

If what you say is true and there are no safeguards then I could take out all my competition very easily with just a few emails...

With regard to your post (#34), I do not assume that Google is 'chomping at the bit' to remove sites from their index. On the contrary, they want as many good quality sites as they can find to inhabit their top pages. A simple email purporting a sale of backlinks would not, in itself, be enough to cause google to take action against an implicated site. But...

if a flood of actual backlinks to the implicated site was found co-inciding with the time of the surrepticious email, that might be cause enough to, at the least, discount the links.

And if more damning evidence of an actual purchase was found further linking the owner of the site to the sender of the email, well, that might be cause for an outright de-indexing of the site.

Now, I imagine that there will be some who will say, "Google would never waste time doing this sort of thing." To those persons I can only say that Google is in the business of manipulating information, and that the scenario I've layed out is not only entirely possible, but likely.

You may ask for the proof that you'll never get, just as you may speculate what really is in Google's web algorithm (which of course is secret as well), but is the lack of available evidence reason enough to declare that such evidence doesn't exist. Apparently for some it is.
