Is anyone making over $60,000 a year just article writing?

I myself am. If you have any questions, Skype me.

Seems like a high number but I dunno. I've chatted with writers pulling in $1 - 3k a month no problem with private clients though. The ones that wanna pay are out there - just gotta know where to find them.
On the other side....I have found a large amount of people that are more reluctant to pay certain prices for articles when they can get people who will gladly take $1 for a 500 word article. :( -even .02 cents a word is expensive to these folks.

outsourcing yes, it is possible. Or if you have a team. Yea i know writers that can do it!

A great informative blog. Keep posting articles like this. You have a great knowledge on subject. Thanks for sharing such an article where education of people matters the most. Your way of expressing articles through words is excellent. The way of expressing things is best and informative.

Dude what are you saying? I wonder whether you are just another fake account or you just commented for no purpose at all. At least check out what's going on in the thread before commenting. Thanks

For a skilled writer? Of course its possible.

I often work with a writer who makes about $200+ a day writing technical documents and translating text.

If you're going to whore yourself out at $1/100 words for quickie articles that are written to fill up space, I would imagine you'd have a hard time hitting the $60k mark.

I know a few people making near that, but they offer higher quality articles.

I am sure you could make them selling articles at $1.5/100 words but you better be ready to work. Article writing is not for the faint of heart.

Someone found xrumer. :p
And lol at the guy above trying to talk to him

Ontopic.... Possible yes... Plausable, I doubt many people could keep motivated cranking out that many articles

I think it's possible, but it would depend on the skill you have.

I'm probably the best writer you will find (no e-brag) and when I've charged a few people for an article this was the layout:

10$ - 500
15$ - 750
20$ - 1000

The key with pricing is obviously whether someone is willing to pay that amount. When they get my article they decide to order in bulk. :)

I'm in law school right now so I don't have the time for this, but it's a lucrative business for those who really know how to write. There's a huge difference between someone who can just 'write' an article, and someone who can paint images with words and make the reader think they've stumbled upon a gold mine of information based on how the reading relates to them. People like that can charge much higher rates and get away with it because the writing just works. You also actually have to enjoy writing to bring a high quality product. Trust me, money won't convince you or change the way you write. It'll just make you more nit-picky over basic sentence structure and grammar errors.

If you're as good a writer as you claim then you're seriously underselling yourself. For a 500 word article I charge between $15 and $25 depending on the level of research required, and I have no trouble finding work. In fact, I keep having to turn down work since I don't have time :p

I can't understand why a skilled writer would work for only $10 per 500 word article.

I submitted many articles there but not accepted.. Is textbroker only for US?

It would appear so.

If you wish to register as an author at Textbroker, you must be at least 18 years of age and a citizen or resident of the United States. You must also own a PayPal account so we can transfer your earnings.

However, it does appear that there is an English version of this site.

If you are not a US citizen or resident, please register at [sitename], our British site. This site is open to all non-US citizens and specializes in British English.

Personally, I write articles in my free time. I try to write at least two a day. It isn't much, but at my current rate I make an extra $400 a month.

I'm very sure it's possible to make $60k a year if you tried really hard. You would have to be well known in the market and find clients willing to pay, as many people previously stated.

Also, I know there's a way to write research papers. I don't know the specific site(s), but basically people order 'sample' papers. They end up using them as college essays. It's legal because they are being bought and sold as samples, but I'd imagine it would be very difficult to keep up with. A lot of research would be involved, and it seems very time consuming. However, I read papers can sell for $40 or more.

I guess the amount you could potentially make depends highly on your skill, the amount of time you would wish to dedicate to it, and who you know.

It's hard, but possible. I have some clients that have very specific needs. Medical and technical writing pays well. I used to fish for clients on fiverr just for contacts and then delete the gig and then sell outside fiverr for higher price. That does not work anymore, new gigs get rarely noticed these days. You need good customer support and great imagination to come up with reasons to gradually raise the price :).

I have been a freelance article writer for 4 years now and the maximum I have made in one single day was 50$. So the answer is no no it's not possible unless you manage to find customers that don't know the market rates and charge three times the price of an article and I wouldn't do that because it's all about deceiving inexperienced persons.
:tool: The market rate for good writing is $25, although experienced writers will get more. I'm not talking about internet marketers who are well known for paying peanuts. I'm talking about average businesses. Larger corporations won't even consider you if you don't charge $70 +. I know writers who are making $150 to $200 per article, which includes marketing that article to social media etc. but doesn't take much effort. Btw, the going rate for writing a short blog post is between $40 - $60. An ebook is a series of articles. for 30,000 to 40,000 word ebook the going rate is somewhere between $1000 - $2000, and sometimes more! So it's more than possible to make $60,000 per year. You only need to write 10 $200 articles and 2 ebooks at $2000 each to reach $6000 per month. But I'm sure you could write more than 10 articles per month!!

A good writer shouldn't charge any less than $25. Yes, there's a lot of money in writing. I had a contract with an SEO company to write 105 articles per month at $25 per article = $2625 per month. you only need one job like that, and two ebooks at $2000 each, for instance, to make $6,500 per month. That's well over $78,000 per year!

If you're not a complete buffoon, the money comes in almost instantly. I've had a single article generate $100+ on day one (a rare exception, granted.). So, no, I fervently disagree. The mistake most of you people make is in selling your articles (usually to people who are smart enough to know their true value.)
