Is anyone making over $60,000 a year just article writing?

I know someone who is writing reviews for Amazon Books. He gets about 2-$300 per book review on Amazon.

Sure, by the looking at all of the orders in my Textbroker account I am pretty sure my article writer is a billionaire by now!

I sell packages of 30 articles for $1,000 ($33.00) and always have more business than I can handle. I used to charge $2,000. a package and probably should again. Most of my clients are high end with deep pockets. They don't bat an eyelash at my fees. Sometimes I get my own clients by sending a friendly email. A great deal of my work comes by word of mouth and by networking. I've done this successfully for 8 years. My first job has always been that of a public high school teacher. I'm an art teacher by trade.

All of you can and should charge much more for your articles, but you can not charge more here at BHW or DP. Think outside of fiverr. Clients do not respect you if your fees are cheap. Google what other professional content writers are charging and you will see.

*Hint - Medical industry and pharma pays obscene amounts of money to their writers.

*Hint - Try contacting Advertising Agencies that outsource writing.

You have to have a good resume' and good samples.

Go for it!

i know few people that make good money at studentoffortune. not sure if it falls under the same as article writing. Look at some of the top salers

Hi, I like to make most of my money from affiliate earnings, but my white-hat blog has blown up in the last year, and you could say I have become an authority and 'name in my niche.

Sometimes big companies contact me for articles for their own blog or website, and I charge a minimum of $70 per 300 words, it takes me no time at all with Dragon Naturally Speaking.

If you become a 'name' or an expert, then of course you can make 60,000 per year writing articles, you just have to do things privately and deal with companies who have big budgets, don't think about doing the $0.5 per 100 word articles you see offered around the forums, shoot big.

The hardest thing is putting the effort in to build up your reputation as a great writer and an authority.

I'm just curious, I have a few questions I'd like to ask you in a PM.
I doubt that someone doing writing as a freelancer will be making $60k. However a team of 10+ may achieve this target.

I have been a freelance article writer for 4 years now and the maximum I have made in one single day was 50$. So the answer is no no it's not possible unless you manage to find customers that don't know the market rates and charge three times the price of an article and I wouldn't do that because it's all about deceiving inexperienced persons.

i don't know about articles but I know someone who makes more than that writing grant proposals for nonprofits. If you are a good writer you may want to look into it.

This is just bad information, total motivation killer and simply poor info. To the Op 60k may be a little steep with only the best writers reaching that mark, but it is definitely possible to make some nice money writing. There are dozens of people reaching 100$+a day using just textbroker and textbroker is only one source of work.

1. I said some people do this but they wouldn't be in BHW because even the best writer on bhw won't be charged much for an article.

2. Daily 100$ is not 60k a year, so still what you said doesn't make the 60k possible.

If someone makes $165 per day EVERY day of the week, then they can earn $60k+

In all honesty that isn't that much. I've earned $120 in a day writing articles and I have only been doing it for a little over a week. Plus, that was a cheap rate and I had a decent amount of free time during the day (not a ton, though).

Obviously there is the worry that you will not get that many orders and that is a valid concern. I don't think anyone here is able to earn that much... and if they do, they probably do not have that much time to write about it on BHW!!

Just because you can't do it does not mean it isn't possible. I used to write for a very popular content mill and made about $100 day for about 5 hours of work. There was a 2 month stretch where I worked crazy hours and was averaging $200/day and pulled in $12K. That would translate to $72K a year. Of course, I do have an engineering degree and command higher prices, but to say it's not possible is completely false.

It is possible, according to Oni ;)

For that you'd need to sell at least 33 articles a day (considering an article of 500 words at the rate of 1$/100words).
So, I'm saying that it is impossible to do by yourself, but perfectly doable by any small company.

To make 60K a year = 5K a month, you should get 170$ a day. That means you gotta have 17 costumers paying you 10$ for article, or have 2 customers paying you 85$ per article. Choose your own way.

Or 6 articles per day at a rate of $5/100 words, which is reasonable for a skilled writer. It's in no way impossible to do yourself, you just need the right skills and contacts.

One of my friends is a writer, and she made $60k+ this year. I'm just starting out, and that's my goal.
