GSA Search Engine Ranker worth it?

Ok, I'll deff keep it going for another few weeks and see what Happens. Nothing to lose anyway right? How many copies of GSA do you have running to be running 91 sites on?

I'm just curious Anon. How many threads do you run and how many copies of GSA? I'm assuming its on a dedicated server but what is the connection? 100mb port or 1gig? I'm thinking of upgrading my dedi to a 1gig port to open her up a bit and see what kind of damage I can do with GSA.

do see the network speed as a limiting factor? I only ask as i have been playing with my vm, increasing threads and then ram throwing in an occasional reboot. so far i can see a correlation to memory and cpu usage and what i have been doing but the network is hardly used.

even when i check my esx host the network usage is minimal, there are some spikes here and there but nothing even close to what it is capable. i have it running in 32bit XP, 2GB ram, 4 cpus with a 1gb nic (this is my internal network speed not my internet connection but gsa would know no different!)

i have now bumped it up to 200 threads with CS running in 45

This was taken from the SER documentation regarding threads. Exactly how many threads per CPU/Mem usage remains to be determined.

Threads to use: Threads are the number of parallel activities that the program can perform. If you
set it to 20, the program is able to submit to 20 sites at the same time. The threads are shared
between all projects. If you have 20 active projects that build links then in best case each project has
one thread, else some might have using 2 or 10 and one is waiting to get a free thread. Please make
sure you don't use too many threads as it might higher your CPU/Memory usage too much.


HTML timeout: If you use really many threads, you should higher this value as well as the internet
connection is getting slower and you want to avoid a timeout of downloads.

I use GSA all the time for linking to 1st tier sites. It works pretty flawlessly. Though I alter some settings

My settings;

Turn off guestbooks (they are just "link invitation pages")
Set OBL max 100
Set PR minimum 1 (Domain not page)
Custom comment
Supply all targets scraped using the provided footprints (in GSA's install folder - just stick them in scrapebox)
No proxies (not needed as you have already supplied all the targets)
Big keyword link tag variation (30 minimum with say 20% containing the phrase you reallt want to rank for, the rest with suggestions for Googles keyword tool)

Like the other 2 major tools in this ilk, if you leave it without targets it runs really well for 16-24 hours then grinds to almost a halt. The killer alteration here is to provide and update the targets (think in terms of hundreds of thousands if not millions - have scrapebox running 24/7 on aserver if you can)

You use GSA and sell Ultimate Demon.

Which in your opinion is the better software for a beginner and what differences are there in both softwares? Forget the pricing.

Do not want to hijack thread but if you could give any opinion, please let me know.

I have a 24 core (dual cpu, 12 cores each) server with 64 gigs of ram and dual gigabit ports. I run vmware esxi on it. I then have 10 virtual machines on it. So 10 VMs split 2gig for bandwidth. Each vm get 2 cores for cpu, and 4 gigs of ram. I've left the rest of the cores and ram spare for the main system, and for possibly adding another vm later.

I have many pieces of software running. Three of them are running GSA SER. All three of those are also running Captcha Sniper and NoHandsSEO too. I am probably going to add in a few more GSAs soon. I have one of them dedicated to scrapebox, two copies running on that. Another to Bookmarking Demon and SliQ Submitter. The other five are all running SENukeX. I use WinAutomation to automate the SENukeXs. I currently own ScrapeJet, but dont use it, it isnt anywhere near as good as GSA SER.

With all of that I have 500 private proxies, 100mbit each. My 500 IPs change every two months, because I really burn through them with all that software.

Depending on the month, the captcha costs, and other variables it ends up between $2000 and $2600 to run my setup. This includes my other server that hosts my websites, and some of the other associated costs. But with a setup like this if you cant cover that cost, you should probably find another job

I'm not getting rich, but I am making more than I am spending. Attempting to ramp that up now, and really start profiting. I think I have a good enough setup that I should be making more than I am, so thats what I am working towards.

That is one insane setup you have there. How many threads do you run per GSA? I'm trying to figure out if upgrading to a 1gig port would be worth it. Right now I run around 75 threads but would really like to open it up and run 200-300 and see what kind of damage I can do.

I'm wondering.. I'm running my GSA in my PC. i7 2600K, 8GB RAM and I have 20mbps down and 10mbps up connection.. I use 100 threads, but it's so super slow. It builds like 4-5 links per hour :/ Any ideas what can be wrong?

What type of proxies are you using? What filters, etc?

I don't use proxies.. but when I do then I use my private proxies ~100.

Are you guys using the comments built in the software? or use anyother tool to scrape comments with the keyword for using it on gsa or build them ?

I wonder if having all 585 search engines checked could have an effect on it? Have you tried running it with only US/UK or something like that? 585 seems a bit like overkill. This might not effect it at all but I'd give it a try.

That's a very impressive setup My cost per month is somewhat similar with 5 workers 1 dedicated 18 Servers to host sites. I have around 500 or so sites. What I was looking for GSA to do was work and keep older sites on the 1st page while I continue to work on new(er) sites. Than once they are on the 1st page throw them into GSA.

Hm.. I don't believe it has any effect, I have tried to select only english speaking countries, but it was still kinda slow.
I have built 15 backlinks within 5 hours..

You've also got "Ask User" enabled for the captchas. Try changing that to "Choose Random". That should skip user prompts for categories.

Also, you're using the PR of the page. If you're going to do that, I think it's better to pre-scrape a list with SB and then feed that in. For some reason it takes longer if GSA is doing the work.

You can also try changing that to use PR of the domain instead and testing against a test site to see if you get faster results.
