Follow Me, Or Not [Journal]

Are you targeting long tail keywords for authority site? If not, You should be cause there's no way your gonna rank high for a general keyword like "male fitness" without having hundreds of thousands quality backlinks and a wad of extra cash.

Anyways Good luck, Subbed and Hopefully you won't give up and remember "No one ever wins without losing first"

No I haven't been keyword targeting at all. All of the content on my site is created solely for the user, not with search engines in mind whatsoever. I feel like this is the best way to do things. I'm mainly getting traffic right now from Twitter and Facebook, and also from google images.

Views from google images? Is this just using key words as the filename?

Hey quick question, where do you get your images from? Thanks

Google images.

Yeah that's right, but here's the weird thing. I have a gallery with pictures of beautiful women, and the filenames of most of the pictures are just "gallery-1", "gallery-2", etc... Yet for some reason they'll still bring me in traffic for search terms like "hot girl", "sexy women", ect... I'm not sure why, but I'm not complaining about it.

Hi nice thread... really great. Wish you all the best. Have you thinked about setting up a more fashion theme? i mean, i think the content in your site it's great, but the theme... well that's another story. Long story shor: i hate it. Im being real honest, sorry if im being too much rude, but i believe you have a very good potential here. You are building a great community around your niche, it's a fair amount of followers and likes for that period of time, and im sure you can have people getting more interactive with your site if you set up a nice theme. Maybe a magazine theme given that you are heading to a Men's Health type of niche.

There's a lot of nulled themes you can get for free... and if the site takes off, you always can buy the theme that better fit with you, your visitors and your content. If you want help looking for some theme options you can shoot me a pm, i'll be glad to help you.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm not worried about changing the theme right now. I know that it'll eventually need to be changed, and I'll eventually even have to get the whole site professionally done, but for right now I'm just trying to gain attention and add new content.

I really don't see what's wrong with the theme. I think it's neat. Yeah there's better themes out there but one should always start at the bottom and once you get paid by G then start upgrading and getting fancy. Another recommendation, don't use nulled/cracked themes.

Yeah that's the plan. I'll get my site design professionally done when my site income can pay for it.

Day 25

  • Published the "Drop Sets" page.
  • Published the "Rest-Pause" page.
  • Published the "Staggered Sets" page.
  • Published the "Trisets / Giant Sets" page.
  • Published the "You Go, I Go" page.
  • Added 2 new celebrities to the Celebrities section.
  • Added 2 new Facebook posts and Twitter tweets.
  • Took the "Store" section off the website and off of the home-page navigation... as well as the menu navigation.

Day 26

Today I...

  • Added a new article.
  • Added two Twitter tweets and two Facebook posts.
  • Removed the Google Adsense ads and instead put in two pay-per-sale ads.
  • Edited the gallery so instead of it being a gallery of photos it's now a menu for the subsections of the gallery.

It took me longer than I thought it would to put in the two new ads, and also to edit the gallery. I spent a lot of time on the site today, just doing those two things though. It's ok though because they're both an important part of the site, so even though I didn't want to spend that much time on them it can still be justified. I'm waiting for an advertiser approval on commission junction so that I can replace the one ad I put up with that one.

Now that the site has a legitimate means of income that should give me more motivation toward seeing short term success and not thinking it will take me a long time to start making a decent income with the site.

There's still a lot of blank pages that need content added to them... I'm going to give myself constructive criticism in saying that I've had a very good work ethic lately but I still need to push myself to get those blank pages filled.

Man those ads look better than Adsense. Try to lower the GNC ad, it's a bit too high. Overall, your site is looking really nice.

Be carefull mate with google image. Make sure you go in advanced < copyright free images.

Otheerwise, you could get sued.

Just saying. Otherwise, goodluck man! :)

Can I ask why you chopped Adsense? Obviously better profits with other ads?

Yeah they do look a lot better. I originally thought it would be better placed at the top, but yeah I might bring it down a little and center it out.

Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna have to look into that this cause I've just been using any image I find that doesn't have a watermark on it.

subscribed..........

Thanks.

Better profits and also better looking. The Adsense ads looked pretty horrible, they didn't blend well with the layout at all. I think the entire website should be visiually appealing, including the advertisments.

Day 27

Today I...

  • Published 6 pages under the "Training Techniques" category in the Build Muscle Section of Training
  • Edited the advertisement in the header
  • Started a thread asking about new creative traffic ideas

I feel like the site's full enough with content for me to start getting more serious about my traffic generation. I'm ready to start driving some serious traffic to the site and start making an income with it.
