GSA Search Engine Ranker worth it?

Ya originally I thought adding a ton of keywords might help with getting more target sites but if you look at the platforms that actually use the keywords its only trackbacks, blogs, pingbacks and e107 forums.

It would be cool if after the platforms start to slow down it would automatically start using keywords to find new targets by adding "keywords" to the end of each footprint searched.

I think it will only get better and better in time after everything is tweaked and optimized .. the tool is still pretty new. It'll get there ;)

Indeed. The other thing I wonder when it starts to slow down is really this: How many sites on those platforms actually exist? I'm not posting duplicates to sites, so I could actually run out of available link targets for that project.

If he only uses keywords for those platforms, he's limited to 1000 links/footprint for the other platforms. You can get only 1000 results per keyword/footprint, and not all of them convert to links. Could be a bug?

Well even if there was a bare minimum of 2,000 sites per platform, we should easily be able to get 20,000 valid links or so considering the amount of platforms it supports .. and that's a bare minimum of 2,000 sites per platform. Realistically there is a lot more then that. It needs some kind of intelligent algorithm made to add our keywords to the footprints when things start slowing down or something like that. This should help it pull in new targets. (at least I'm guessing)If anyone has any ideas, share them and maybe we can talk to Sven about it.

Hello All,
Thank you for your posts, they have been informative.
Nearly all the backlinks that SER has generated for me are Pr 1 or more, but most of them are not related to my subject matter at all. Is this still okay as long as PR is high? Are you guys getting backlinks that are related to your subject matter?

Yes, I have the settings set to be real particular and as premium as possible. I'm finding myself watching GSA run and checking the backlinks as they are verified, and I'm trying to figure out how GSA figures it's related. Well, today I'm scoring some real low OBL links and I'm checking them and I can't find one word related to what I input. Don't get me wrong, I love this software, but hey I would like the options to work as clicked. After this latest update, GSA is also stopping on it's own.

Anyone successfully run a campaign to get some of their keywords back from the penguin debacle?

Thank you for this suggestion. I had all search engines selected and so I just changed my settings accordingly. Lets hope it works because for some reason, I am only getting an average of 50 verified backlinks and about 100 submitted links after having SER on for about 8 hours overnight. Literally 95% of the time, verification of backlinks fails in the log area of program. I also get the comment "no engine match" a lot in the log area. Not sure if all the above is normal and still trying to get this program working correctly. Does not make sense to me that the results are so low, and its likely that I've gotten some setting wrong. If anyone else has any suggestions about what settings I might be able to optimize or fix, please let me know.

I am using all the platforms available in SER except trackback and pingback. Skipping sites more than 50 OGL and PR below 1. I use 40 threads for SER and 20 threads for GSA SEO Indexer. In the submissions tab setting in options, I have "use proxies" unticked as I don't have much knowledge about proxies and so I left this option to default. I use Captcha Sniper to "analyze captchas automatically". I have about 60 anchor text spinning, 500 relevant keywords. My internet download speed is 2.73Mbps and upload 0.75Mbps and ping 35ms. Nearly all other settings are set to default.

You have a fiew options.
1. only select the international google yahoo bing and aol. (will give you the most links per hour)
2. Select all international, U.S, and UK search engins. (Give you almost the as many links per hour bet more iP diversity)
3. Select all search engins from the following countries.
U.S,
U.K, AustraliaBelgium,, Canada,
Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Korea Republic Of ,
Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, United Arab Emirates (Thease countries are often concidered the highest converting countriy traffic)
4. Select all search engins (will have slowest links per hour but you will get massive IP diversity)

I use option #4 on my super fast vps and option #2 on my desktop

Blogs, Trackbacks, Pingbacks and e107 forums are the only thing that use keywords to find related targets ... everything else will never be related. It shows this in the software :)

Upgraded last night from 3.08 to 3.10 and did not get one link over night? First time ever for me that no link building is happening. I have seen it slow down and wondered about targets and number of keywords. I know Sven will be on it but something has changed....

With any luck, there will be an update in the next couple of hours.
Mondays updates are normally fairly good
Then again Sven might be watching to see when people are less active and then release multiple updates to catch some out

Looking good with a fix for projects stopping.

3.11 - new: directory engine EasyLink added
- new: forum/CMS engine XOOPS added
- new: improved link speed validation
- fix: project suddenly stopped in some cases
- new: improved internal engine speed
- new: CommentLuv plugin for wordpress is now simulated and used if possible

I had a list of nice platforms, I'll send them all to Sven when I find that file.. it has like ~40 platforms that are not in GSA

I sent some things to Sven as well. Mainly a way to posts your articles on other sites blogs Mainly as a Guest post type of thing. Hopefully he can implement it but he said it would take some time to add to GSA.

Are they guestbook/comment type platforms or do they require registration? If they don't need reg then shoot me over the list and I'll try and code a couple and share them here.

Can GSA only be installed on one Machine? Or can it be installed on Multiple?

It can be installed in multiple machines but its recommended to use only one at a time because when running 2 at a time it will f* up the algo its using (according to the FAQ)

Guys we have to send a lot of new and rare platforms to steven to use in gsa. I sent it other platforms and he added. GSA the best tool for linkbuilding without hands lol.
