Client didnt pay - your suggestions???

remember moving companies have some of the worst complaint wrap sheets in the bizzz... heres what i would do, youve spent some time learning this industry right? You scouted out the competitors right? You have something to show for what your werent paid for right? Well unless you signed a contract with a injuction clause, go to there direct competitor- theres always one, and offer some discounted consulting work- work the deal!!!!

Be careful how you word any threat like sentences. There's a thin line between being forceful with someone "or else" style and full-on blackmail. Blackmail charges can be filed regardless of what he did since it's a civil matter.

Just my 2cents :)

First don't do anything to his site. The money which you got is much more which you did for him. You only pressed buttons, try making some bucks from other clients.

If you are really eager to do something then, dont warn him and bast his site after 1-2 months. In this way he will not have any proof that you did anything, not even in email.

Cheers

don't blast his site directly - report him on ripoff report then seo that page.

then offer your services to him to bury the report. Note I said YOUR services - not your companies (I am assuming you are an employee)

already plenty of good, bad, and ugly suggestions here! :D Now take ACTION.

OP, don't listen to any of these posts telling you to seek revenge by doing negative SEO or something. It's only going to be a waste of your time, you're not going to get your money back, and you're not going to do any damage to them.

Just take legal action as necessary and try to get your money back as others have suggested. If you can't, just move on and change your payment policies for the future.

@OP, this (the above-mentioned) one is a top advice, IMO.

As a blackhat'er and a decent one at that(!), you can do a great satisfying job as a thorough businessman, you can also teach a lesson or two to your erring client in the process.

Rest up to you, but take action soon, taking fast and appropriate ACTION is the keyword here and will keep you and your business moving in this dog-eats-dog business world. Vengeance isn't the proper word here, instead such a "shrewd business strategy" can be extremely rewarding and achieve the required results for you in the long run!

Be an ever-great service provider, but don't extend this golden rule to those type of sh1tty clients.

HTH! :)

P.S.:

Of course, the clever (no harm in using this adjective) competitor will want to know the "why", so "make up" and tell him a golden story while also getting him positive results (which will also be more "satisfying" for your hurt ego/business;)), but don't tell him exactly why you are doing him such a grand favor! :D Laugh it out and ask him for out-of-station (same field) references or some other ancillary business house references (in the same field) as your special reward.

IMO, your erring client needs to learn The Lesson quickly through your master-stroke, so that his future service provider is spared a similar fate... Show that dog that he has indeed bitten his own 'soft bone'. There are of course more potent ways to show him who's his master, but those games should be played only by the real masters in the field. For you, I feel that the above method will turn out to be more rewarding for your business.

So, learn and grow positively from a bad experience! If I were you, I'd really Get Working Immediately on this.

i will suggest you,use any third party services that's best for both....if anyone offer job here, you can create project any third party services.

Move on? It's part of your experience when providing a service. Now you know you should receive payment up front.

If you can't handle this, perhaps you should build your own site...

I agree. You will waste time trying to blast him. Move on find more contracts, maybe you can place your invoice with a debt collector, they will take a part of the money but you might recover something.
Use this as a learning experience. In business you will get bad payers.

1. Do some Negative SEO.
2. Once I do that, go to the reference #1

Hahaha! So probably, the OP will have to do a lot of Step#1's to majority/many of his clients all the time!

This will turn out to be: "Not paying me, huh? OK, see your site in the gutter forever!" strategy!
Wrong idea!

Anyway, I feel, for him that's not the right business plan to have as an option.

If you ranked him on the first page, destroy his rankings,it's not worth getting debt collectors etc for the amount due.
Neg seo.

Reviews sites have authority so look for review sites when you enter his keywords, use these.
Leave 1 star rating and seo the review page so when people search for the keyword e.g removal city the neg review is visible.
You do not even need to lie,a simple "this company is a disgrace,do not deal with." is a fact in your case, they screwed you over.
Use keyword anchortext to these reviews.

Do not inform them you are going to do this,it could be classed a bribing.if they have any commonsense they will know but not a thing they can do about it.

If they have a facebook page start leaving neg comments.

didnt think i was gonna get so many replies. Well im guessing a lot of people have had similar experience ))). I shoulda told you before a little bit about myself. I have a full time job that gets me around 50/year and IM + Design and seo is my hobby that I do either after work or at work when im on computer (depending of much i want to earn as extra). So i will not chaise after 700$ as i understand its a big headache. I do IM not for living, i do it because i like doing it and learning every day even tho it brings me extra 2 grand/month or so.

I wish there would be some private group of guys that would just act on situations like that and hack the hell out of this companies websites. Even tho its not reasonable to destroy or hack people that didnt pay you portion, sometimes feelings just take over when rich people scam you, you just understand how most of them became rich.

Dont accept cheques dude ... in this day and age there is no need whatsoever to use cheques, as a limited company in the UK the only time we ever write a cheque is to HMRC

edited because I can't delete the post

1. learn from this, chalk it down to learning and move on. the time and effort its going to get that cash back isnt worth it imho. send a few letters, get a lawyer to draft one if you like but thats about it.

2. Not that i recommend it, but the only decent "revenge" ive seen on here is to write a HONEST review on rip off report, then seo it for his company name. Dont admit or tell him its you, just do it to feel smug. Still a total waste of time if you ask me - but if you want to do something, do this.

IGNORE ALL RECOMMENDATIONS NEGATIVE SEO. ARE YOU SERIOUS!? The stupidity of people recommending this is astounding... think for a second.... YOU SEO'd for him, if his site tanks who do you think he is going to blame? and probably very vocally. He isnt going to know you neg seo'd - he is just going to think you fucked up.

money upfront, have them sign a contract if you and them are in the US, then you should use one of those programs to fill up their email with spam, ie AMR blast their email and give them 10k unwanted emails, then maybe send a fake lawyer letter threating to sue them or something, also file complaint with BBB

Forget about it and move on, use that time to get new clients as that will actually get money and get them to pay upfront.

Contact him at the website or other contact, send him message,if you not pay,my friend matt cutts, will send your site to deep sea
