I have problems to find proxies automatically with the software. In the other versions i tick use proxies and find automatically and worked but now no. It appears empty without proxies. I have seen that the proxy source list is empty.

The search and test for public proxes function is working perfectly Ok. I've just found and tested over 8k proxies.

On the proxy list page you should have "Automatically search for new proxies every (x) minutes" and "Test proxies" both checked. The Message in the main Window should say: "Searching and testing for new proxies..."

If it's not working for you, then you're simply not selecting the right options.

Just wondering, do most of you use the proxies harvest built-in to GSA SER?

How big of a difference in the links posted if I would to use private proxies vs public?

I use private proxies for all my work. And in GSA I have it set to use them everywhere.

Maybe it helps if you load the default proxy sites and check some of them. To do that you have to click "configure" in the options/submission menu and "add/edit new proxysites". There you can "load default proxy sites".

It could be either a system or faulty installation issue.
Post screen shots of exactly what empty list you mean.

Its empty the default proxy list
The proxy list is empty by default, until the software searches for (and tests them).
Try an uninstall and a clean install, and if that doesn't work, contact Sven/support and post your fix back here, to help others with a similar issue.

I suppose there is something wrong with your "proxyfinder.ini" and/or "default_proxyfinder.ini". You find both files in "c:\users\USERNAME\appdata\roaming\gsa search engine ranker". Maybe these .ini-files have "read only" rights or something like this.

A solution for that is to install GSA on another machine and copy/paste both files into that appdata folder and give them "writing" rights.

PS: I wanted to upload the default_proxysites in pastebin, but I'm not allowed to post urls in this forum, yet. Maybe some authorized user will upload the .ini-text for you.

Can someone send me the default proxy list that has gsa? And i will add it to my gsa. Thanks.

Yes i am running it in a vps. I copied the folder from my desktop's laptop to deskptop vps where i cannot install nothing.Only add folders . Maybe is this.

I have not access to appdata folder because i dont have permissions(rights). Do you know where can i edit the code to say the new path of the folder of proxies ("proxyfinder.ini" and/or "default_proxyfinder.ini")

I dunno if thats possible. You'd have to ask Sven to get your problem solved, imo.

Edit: What you can do is to add a proxy-site manually. I'll take Google as an example. Open "Add/Edit" Proxysites -> "Add". Now insert a name for the proxy "Google". Compare and edit all settings like "Paste URL", "Proxy Type" etc. with the proxysite "Google" from your local machine. Hopefully that works!

Looks like you don't have admin rights on your VPS?
If so, you need to change your VPS user to admin (or get another VPS), then do a clean install.

Why have you not contacted Sven?

is there any chance to automatically make rss feeds with the links daily? Having such feed would be helpful in indexing.

You can use their Indexer which works super well too

Guys have anyone created any custom definitions?! I see the scripting language is quite powerful . I'm wondering if there is any book/tutorial with all the commands we can use.
I'd like to create some custom scripting definitions as I've created some for Magic Submitter i think i can port them on GSA SE.

Use the contact form on their website. He usually gets back to people pretty quickly.

Don't contact them unless it is absolutely necessary. First post your question here. You distract them from writing code if you contact them too frequently.
