GSA Search Engine Ranker worth it?

I tried this but I could not get any article published, only wikis which are not in context article links, mostly profiles.

I think the reason is because I am using only CS and perhaps the article sites mostly use decapchas which CS won't solve.

Is this your case S4ntos? Are you using paid capchas for the articles?

Is there a way to tell GSA to use deathbycapcha as a second choice only for the articles? I don't want to burn paid captchas with other properties.

Oh ya and here is some info that Sven told me yesterday that might be useful for everyone.

"You can use spin syntax everywhere except in e-mail/login/password/forum-nick as these things have to be unique to be able to login later on (must be constant to know how to login)."

So basically that also means Video I.D.'s are spinnable so you can have it rotate/post different videos. I thought that was pretty neat.

Also, I tried embedding HTML links in my articles to see if I could get contextual links instead of only links in the author box and yes the contextual anchor text links seem to work fine.

Thanks - this will be useful to all of us. What are you using for captcha? I am beginning to think its all about captcha, I am only using CS at the moment but I think I should be using third parties as well.....

I am using deathbycaptcha as my primary captcha solver. Mainly because its cheap and effective.

Can you set a set %age of the links to come from specific platforms? So that it doesn't built 1000 wiki links and 50 comments?

No but I think that would be an awesome idea. It would be cool if there was some kind of intelligent algorithm that was an option in the software that allowed you to set how many verified links you want per platform type before moving on to the next. So basically you would get 50 verified wiki's before moving on to blogs then after 50 verified blogs it would move on to guestbooks, etc.

I'd rather this be an option that can be turned on and off if we want it.

I'm only using deathbycaptcha right now. No there isn't a way to choose which platforms use captcha's and which don't but I think that would be another cool idea. lol I have a feeling in the future this software's gonna have so many features noobies aren't gonna have a clue where to start. This thing is basically becoming the Scrapebox of automated link building.

Oh ya, when I did my case study I had GSA Indexer to help me a little bit a long the way. Right now backlicklinkwatch.com is showing 42,000 indexed links for my case study site but I bet there are even more then that.

I still think there should be separated group editing for engines and for setting. Do you all have exact the same settings on all of your projects?

I have exact settings on all of my projects for engine setting and I have different settings for search engines and waiting time and PR etc...
So it would be very benefitial if this will be separated. What do you think?

I have the exact same across all 152 campaigns I have going in my copies of GSA. I love how it currently works. But I can see why someone might want to do it another way.

I think I am going to stop it and let the sites rest for a while and see what happens. Perhaps it's only dancing. I do see the value of the tool for a Tier 2.

For Tier 1 , I think more testing is needed to determine the right mix and backlinking pace with the tool.

Don't stop it. Everything is in the velocity of link-building.
If till now, there was one link in a while to your site and now suddenly there is a ton of it, this is unnatural to Google.
So if you stop now, Google will know this was artificial or that it was sudden interest into your site and there isn't an more and your rankings will go down the drain.

So if you are not in the hurry with your rankings it is better to start building links slowly and keep steady or little increasing over time. So you wouldn't need building so many links overtime and positions will be more stable.

I have a similar problem to yours with the video poster, I have lots of account creation emails but not one video posted in 24 hours.

Also, I'm not having much success with the other engines, overall on 5 days, 3 projects with almost no restrictions on PR or OBLs, there are only around 2200 submitted links and around 200 verified links, mostly guestbooks and WHOIS statistics.

I stat loosing my trust in this tool...

Quick question regarding the video submissions if you dont mind.

You mentioned that you had 500 submissions in a few hours but for some reason i only had one that was submitted and the same one was verified.

May i ask what you write down at the youtubeID. The whole string or just the code since i am having zero results with both.

Maybe something with the categories? But i may assume they are the same catergories of the socials.

Any help would be appreciated.

24 hours is up. Here's my stats:

4026 in the submission column and 1339 in the verified. 1046 out of the 1339 are d0follow.

My project settings:
OBL Filter - OFF
PR Filter - OFF
Avoid Posting URL on same Domain - On
External Captcha - On
Categories - Choose Random
Verify Submitted Links - On
Priority - Normal
Analyze Competitors backlinks - On
Search engines selected were selected by country and I chose United States and UK for a total of 14 search engines.
All word filters were off.

Private Proxies were used for everything and captcha was enabled with deathbycaptcha as my primary captcha source.

I was pretty happy with the results except for the fact that I only got 1 video submission, but overall I'm happy with the total link count and diversity. I'm starting to think using the PR filter isn't really necessary because you still get a ton of high PR links even with it off. Maybe just having a small bad words list and having the OBL filter set to a 100 or so would do the trick for most people.

Anyways, that's my results. If anyone else decided to give it a try, post your results and give your settings so we can compare.

Edit: Forgot to mention I had thread count set to 50.

Good stuff and thanks for sharing your case study. I think I'll give GSA a good look. It's not software I really ever considered before but I like what seems to be rather extreme support and updates and your results are compelling.

Just noticed iDocScript Document Sharing added or did I miss that earlier..

Anyone else noticed thousands as in 10s of thousands of Forum search links from a single profile link created? Now from 300 links on one of my sites I have nearly 100k.. :eek1: in just over a week from only a few IPs. Can't see if my link is pinned somewhere like a sidebar but it's happened on a couple of forums with several of my sites. I have it set to post once per domain only.

Loving the link diversity, velocity and all the outstanding updates!

This software is amazing, pay the damn price. And the license is for 1 machine. If your going to use it on multiple, pay for it. This software is worth it. Sven does an amazing job.

I would appreciate your input as I have seen my pages ranking get hurt after testing them with GSA.

I have been testing GSA with some domains and inner pages that I don't care much about to see how it does, but unfortunately I have seen their ranking getting penalized.

These are some of the findings:

Site 1: from position 13 in google (apr 20) to pos 52 (apr27)

Site 2: from Pos 45 (apr 23) to pos 105 (apr27)

Site 3: from Pos 94 (apr 23) to pos 239 (apr27)

Site 4: from pos 169 (apr25) to not in the first 400

Site 5: from pos 193 (apr22) to not in the first 400

The only positive result was a youtube video from pos 89 to p48

My settings:
Private proxies
skip sites with more than 50 links
Skip sites with a PR lower than 1, sometimes 2 (domain)
Posting in these properties:
Wiki articles
forums (all)
Guestbooks (all)
Image comment (all)
Pingbacks (all)
trackback

I am using spun content and 3 spun anchor text for the target keywords. Captcha, only CS.

Maybe it is just bouncing but I have stopped the projects as I don't want to hurt them more.

If you are having success, would you mind to share what you are doing different than me?

Use 50-100 anchors and make sure they are LSI keywords
