GSA Search Engine Ranker worth it?

I am certain I have something wrong with my settings. Around 2 weeks ago the app was posting to platforms like a madman but ever since they have reduced alot. I created a brand new project yesterday with all the default settings and all platforms ticked - over 24 hours later and I just have 84 verified links, the majority of which are guestbooks - what rates are you guys getting? by the way, I have 25 private proxies running and their fine, captcha sniper enabled (I tried DBC soley also to not much effect).....also tried the pre scrape with SB and loading these in (even analysed them with SB before hand for computability) but even these returned low verfied links.....sctatching my head here

How are your filters set? PR filter, OBL filter, Word filters, etc? Thread count? Captcha enabled? I'm gonna setup a 24 hour test myself when I get back from playing some disc golf. Then tomorrow I'll check and see how many verified links I got and we can compare settings.

Thanks S4ntos - I appreciate it. Its coming up to a full 24 hours now and just 96 confirmed....anyhow, heres my screenshots of all the settings currently used - I am just running one campaign as well.threads.pngword_filters.pngoptions1.png

Well you're only posting to pr2 and above so about 100 confirmed links every 24 ours doesn't seem that bad to me. Those are only the confirmed links you see, I'm sure there are some waiting to be verified on the submission side.

Oh ya and you definitely don't need all those search engines checked.

Thanks for checking - I just wanted to gauge how far off I was from the norm - not much it seems. Yea, I will uncheck the search engines, I just did that to see whether it increased or not. Have you seen any posts being made to the video site yet? haven't got any from my runs....

I'm doing a 24 hour run with no PR or OBL filters first to see what it comes up with then I'll try with filters. Yesterday I did an article + video submission only and it got a decent mix of both but the majority were mediawiki platforms.

This will be my first time testing the video platform with everything else so we'll see how it goes.

All day you wait for the updates.
Im sure he watches for when people go out to a bar on a Friday night, then he sneaks multiple updates out

2.94 - new: option to disable link verification (not useful for most users though)
2.93 - new: new social bookmark engine added (Hotaru CMS)
- new: improved link verification by search form

That new video submission module is about as epic as it gets.

I've gotten over 500 submissions in a couple of hours and at least 70 verified video links and they're all d0follow! Too bad I was just testing it and linked to squidoo instead of my real website in the info box. I even got a few PR5 d0follow links ... with anchor text!

If anyone wants to see what the links will look like once they're posted here's a few samples from a test I did.

Code:
http://americantesol.com/cafe/watch_video.php?v=BKW5OS9B9DSU
http://footyarena.com/Jack-Black-Doing-a-Jig_v3151
http://gotube.in/video/10339/Jack-Black-Doing-a-Jig

Even if your links are verified, you might not see your video right away, that's because your video is "processing". No worries, the video will eventually be there.

Hi S4nth0s,

Quick question regarding the video submissions if you dont mind.

You mentioned that you had 500 submissions in a few hours but for some reason i only had one that was submitted and the same one was verified.

May i ask what you write down at the youtubeID. The whole string or just the code since i am having zero results with both.

Maybe something with the categories? But i may assume they are the same catergories of the socials.

Any help would be appreciated.

The Youtube I.D. is the part after the "watch?=" but sometimes there will be "&feature=related" after the I.D. which you won't need to copy.

Here's some examples:

youtube_ID.png

youtube_ID_2.png

That I.D's are also spinnable so you can use {sTPn4JRL|BEendh1|bdsoR412j} and have it rotate uploading different vids.

As far as categories go, if my niche is weight-loss, I would pick categories like weight-loss, fitness, exercise and then I would have a category like General and Misc or Miscellaneous just in case it doesn't fit into any of those categories. Then in the project options menu I have it set to "choose random" so if it doesn't find any of those categories, it will just pick one.

Are you not using captcha? I think all the video sites use captcha when signing up so make sure you have captcha enabled.

Hi guys:

I would appreciate your input as I have seen my pages ranking get hurt after testing them with GSA.

I have been testing GSA with some domains and inner pages that I don't care much about to see how it does, but unfortunately I have seen their ranking getting penalized.

These are some of the findings:

Site 1: from position 13 in google (apr 20) to pos 52 (apr27)

Site 2: from Pos 45 (apr 23) to pos 105 (apr27)

Site 3: from Pos 94 (apr 23) to pos 239 (apr27)

Site 4: from pos 169 (apr25) to not in the first 400

Site 5: from pos 193 (apr22) to not in the first 400

The only positive result was a youtube video from pos 89 to p48

My settings:
Private proxies
skip sites with more than 50 links
Skip sites with a PR lower than 1, sometimes 2 (domain)
Posting in these properties:
Wiki articles
forums (all)
Guestbooks (all)
Image comment (all)
Pingbacks (all)
trackback

I am using spun content and 3 spun anchor text for the target keywords. Captcha, only CS.

Maybe it is just bouncing but I have stopped the projects as I don't want to hurt them more.

If you are having success, would you mind to share what you are doing different than me?

Thanks

Your site could be dancing or it could be affecting the rankings negatively. It worked for me on a brand new domain and the site still sits at #5 only using GSA. I noticed some of my URL's dance too when I use it on my other sites but that normally happens when building links in mass. The case study took over a month before my site finally got to the good results. Remember I did the case study for about a month and a half and I did it on a throw away domain only as a test to see if it could work not expecting to get any results. It just happened to work for me. Honestly, I think I could do it easily all over again. I've been in the SEO game for a while and I'm very patient with my sites when building links. If the case study would have took 6 months to see good results, I would have waited 6 months. SEO is a waiting game. I don't recommend everyone go blasting their money sites just because I got good results.

The only advice I can really give is, if you are worried about it, use it as a 2nd tier tool. Use it to blast links to all your 1st tier properties.

You have to kind of use your own judgement and what you believe works in SEO. Do you believe d0follow links help with SEO? Do you believe PR1-8 links help with SEO? Do you believe link diversity helps? Well the tool can do all of that. The only thing it can't do is guarantee first page rankings .. that's up to big G to decide. There's just a too many variables that play a role in rankings these days. On-page SEO, minimal ad's above the fold, varied anchor text, etc.

Your settings seem similar to mine that I used in the case study. I probably wouldn't really focus too much on the pingbacks, I don't think they really add much value.

I don't really see anything wrong with your settings so maybe just cut back on using it for a bit or continue playing with the settings to see if you get better results. Just keep in mind SEO takes time.

Thanks - this will be useful to all of us. What are you using for captcha? I am beginning to think its all about captcha, I am only using CS at the moment but I think I should be using third parties as well.....

Yep.. Using Cs alone leave a lot of backlinks on the table as CS can't solve a lot of captchas like famous Recpatcha from google and many more. that's why you have to use a 3rd party service along with CS. GSA supports that. I use deathbycaptcha and Im happy with it. My settings are 1 time retry with CS and one time with deathbyCaptcha

Your drop in rankings, have the happened since the latest google screw up, Penguin / Panda / Google money train / Pandemonium update that happened in the week?
I had three websites page one for one search term. Content 100% unique. You cant get much more unique than the content on them, I run a pc 24/7 producing it and uploading the data every five minutes
One remains at number 4 on page one. One I found at page 27. The other, it sunk deeper than the titanic, without a trace.
My sites are all white hat with the exception to using gsa for the link building

Can you set a set %age of the links to come from specific platforms? So that it doesn't built 1000 wiki links and 50 comments?

Just curious. I'm going to be running this with a 301 redirect anyway, but that feature will be nice

I still think there should be separated group editing for engines and for setting. Do you all have exact the same settings on all of your projects?

I have exact settings on all of my projects for engine setting and I have different settings for search engines and waiting time and PR etc...
So it would be very benefitial if this will be separated. What do you think?

Thanks for your input santos.

I think I am going to stop it and let the sites rest for a while and see what happens. Perhaps it's only dancing. I do see the value of the tool for a Tier 2.

For Tier 1 , I think more testing is needed to determine the right mix and backlinking pace with the tool.

I will continue the test and report the results

Anything is possible, but honestly I attribute it to the use of GSA, because I was not doing any other backlinking to the test sites.
They were different domains (mature, new), different topics, even on in Spanish and they were all negatively affected.

However is too early to say, I will follow up as I change settings, etc.
