(b). Google is attempting to create subterfuge to ward off the Antitrust suits they are facing. If you are following that development, then you know that the FTC just hired Beth Wilkinson. Beth is a former DOJ prosecutor, who has never lost a case. When the FTC made that move, it was letting Google know that they are in fact going to be sued by the FTC much like the case of The United States vs. Microsoft. Google is also facing the same type of lawsuit in Europe. If you recall, when Microsoft lost that lawsuit, it opened up the doors for companies like Google to sprout up.

Google is also in a lot of copyright infringement lawsuits too, notably with Oracle. Oracle could do some real damage to Google if they win.

Can you please elaborate on this? Specifically, why you say it is "clearly" the case?

Since November 2011, web 2.0 links have only been as valuable as the tiers above them, and were little more than funnels of dead links starting in Jan (did several massive campaigns and saw little results)

Basically I have ~150-200 web 2.0s fully automated... the first links coming off them are always the most valuable. However, I was not getting any real boosts to them just making them and blasting them as many many people do. Rather, I had to build 3-4 tiers to see good results.

even then, Domain diversity's value just keeps going up and up for google's algo...
If you come up with an effective way to create excellent content across thousands of domains let me know

Google has everyone where they want them. If you use Adsense, they just chopped the nuts off many accounts too. I don't think they care about us (Black Hatter's) they are trying to preserve the major payer's, oh player's... I have had very good success with my simple SEO strategy. I never bought into link wheels, and some of those crazy link diagrams from hell. I watched Friday as one of my sites went from #2 to #1. Was almost as fast as hitting refresh and it was back to #2 then down to #12 for a day. It has since moved back to #6. IMO the major PAYER's will always stay on top because they are paying Google for advertising. But with every change comes opportunities. We just need to figure out what that is right now and Capitalize on it. If you have Mozilla download SEO Quake, you will be surprised and what you see regarding your competitions rankings and links.

I think it is a good idea just to wait it out like people are saying. Google clearly f*cked up this update. I'm just going to keep building links and wait for the day I come back. All but one of my sites were buttsecksed. I can't believe they would release such a flawed algorithm.

I checked one of my websites 4 times and each time was different, 116, 163, 169 and then 143.

since this update is affecting a broad spectrum of sites. You will see alot of business seeking seo advice in a week or two. This might just make the mainstream news. The trick is to alert the massess that google's search is flawed. How many small and medium sized business's use google search. All of them! Are they as fast to realize that they took a hit in serps, prob not. This forum was on top of changes the second it hit. Google can't afford the negative news. Remember, in a week or 2 facebook is going public and will have billions in the warchest. For google to do this, it was well calculated, do the stupid update, clean up the search space, take the negative pr and move on. But, they shot themselves in the foot. There are 2 primary reasons why people use the internet, #1 for entertainment. #2 To solve a problem. If google screws up #2, see ya later,,, Yahoo is waiting, restructuring, and adapting.

Have you ever used Xrumer? it has an automatic captcha decrypter. However, I don't really consider $1/1000 web 2.0 accounts to be such a bad investment.

That's what that tools shows, but manually looking up my site in Google always shows the same position.
