I'm sorry but I don't see how anyone could "destroy" google.

This is pretty true because of the insane size of Internet. It requires huge amount of dedicated hardware which means a lot of money. And if you don't have that kind of money to waste at the beginning, you can't be rival for Google.

Good luck with that. Seriously guys, why not just keep working on getting your sites ranked with Google instead of trying to go against it? It's a multi-billion dollar company and more than half the western world uses it. You're not going to get far trying, whereas your time is far better spent if you can modify your strategies to gain in rankings.

It's not like (even if the ftc did win), all of the cry babies on here would stop whining and all of a sudden be able to make money without google. They will always have something to cry about instead of just hustling and making money.

BHW can hurt google more than anyone else right now Imagine how many BHW members own websites and imagine the number of traffic that goes trough all those websites each day. If BHW launches a campaign against google and all of us direct our websites visitors towards using different search engines such as Bing, with the power of banners, story lines, accusations etc. Google will experience a devastating effect that has a huge chance of going viral trough the whole world. Win or lose this type of publicity hurts a company no matter what. If google has to divert its recourse to this lawsuit, then thats resource its taking away from other areas of its business model. If this because front page public then you can bet your ass this will hurt there search engine as a whole. People will know that google is out to f*ck them in there search results. Then you might see a natural move to another search engine. You can see that bing is making an effort to fight the good fight. They put there advertising money into MTV shows like "rob dyrdek ridiculousness" they are going the right crowd in my opinion. Just like McDonalds motto win them as a child then you will have a customer for life.

In summary, Google will lose market share over this and valuable capital that other wise could be spent on hookers and blow, ceo golf trips, dreaming up gay names for updates. How much share will they lose? Will this be the beginning of the end of there strangle hold on the search market? Who knows really but alot of use hope so, me included...

Well I have to be honest, I have a love/hate relationship with Google. Without them it would be MUCH harder to make money (imagine if they didn't have so much market share and you had to rank for tons of different types).

I don't know. Even if I thought they were going to be destroyed (they wont), I would not be happy about it.

As someone who used to be in law school I'll tell you Google is fine. Anti-trust violations rarely get passed a fine for the penalty . Usually not a serious enough crime where a company is dismantled....only risk of bankruptcy. Again, G is fine.

G will be fine, but hopefully this will open there eyes about all these updates they create. They are manipulating search in their favor it seems, and is putting a hurt on many legit companies, forcing them to lean towards Adwords on top of all of this.

Hey, one time I worked at a factory when I was 19, and we were working 84 hours a week. There was about 200 employees at he time. There was a few employees who were young and abused the machinery badly. Then one day, one of them cut his hand off while horse playing, and they had to shut that machine down. Because of what happened, they cut everyones overtime, and cut the two 12 hour shifts into three 8 hour shifts. Our pockets went from $1200 a week to about $400 a week. Everyone started to turn against the company that had taken very good care of their families for severel years and people started quitting left and right. But there was a few of us who stayed, and we just dealt with the hand that was dealt.


The moral of this story (the point Im trying to make) is that people abuse good methods and systems, then when the company decides to crack down because of it, they turn against the company who has taken care of them for so long, when the blame should be on them, because they did it to themselves.

If it was just a matter of building networks, building HQ links, doing things google wants and achieving high rankings on highly competitive terms... then sure you'd have a point

So you either keep abusing the system, for the most part, or you make nothing...
And therein is the fault of google's intentions. There is no Tazmanian Tiger that represents the perfect and fair search... google should concentrate on Xrumer and SB spam in my opinion, rather than web 2.0s or other link types. Why? Because those two types of links are 1) the easiest to manage algorithmically, and 2) the most spammy. It's tough to argue that generating press releases and manual high PR blogposts is "spam" by normal terms for the word.

Unfortunately for google, it appears that they did in fact purposefully intend to subvert Oracle's patent and copyright with their droid programs...
Apparently there are several emails Oracle got ahold of from whistleblowers that clearly show top engineers discussing how to code something in java and still bypass the copyrights.

This could be... billions of dollars for them.
