Starting around the local town is a great step forward I reckon. Get yourself known, visit them personally with your flier and talk with the company owner; chat about the local sports team/weather, fucking anything, just strike a chord and build up some testimonials. Take the smallest seo jobs and build them bigger. It's amazing how companies will pass on their hot tips to other businesses at company events and exhibitions, as usually they have nothing better to talk about other than business. When that takes off do what every one else recommends, rinse and repeat, but on a larger scale.
its great idea to start with new strategy, keep it up.
I suffer badly from Social Anxiety hence why I did affiliate marketing, but Ill do anything required!!!
There must be 25 people in a town with a population of 27500 who would pay me.
Definitely. Even though you may not be comfortable face to face, your grammar looks perfect and you come across as professional, so just do everything online. Granted, I come from a sales background so I'm used to face to face business, and I still think that being able to show your face for at least one time shows a lot more trust than from doing everything from behind a desk; but that shouldn't mean you can't succeed in what you're doing.
I've had success following a thread here on BHW. I own a Hosting resellers account, gathered hundreds of company names from directories online who either didn't have a website, owned a shitty out of date website, or a site which wasn't ranking well. I mailshot them all with one of three different templated letters - either 'I can make you a site for free', or 'I can build you a better site for free', or 'I can improve the ranking on your site' -, took on a whole load of new customers who never had sites, a whole load who asked me to make them a new site, then just a few that wanted me to improve their rankings. Either way I have them all on my hosting account and will hopefully receive their renewal fee the same time next year.
I started offering Google Places here in Argentina, and very few people know about it. Nevertheless, if you tell a business owner that 3000 people are looking for his niche in google every single month, and that you are able to put them up there (competition is soft here) so they get seen before their competition by the users, and that you will be charging them AFTER they start seeing results, once they are on first page, believe me, most business owners will hear you very attentively. So I dont really think its a matter of a service being big or widely known to be able to sell it, but your ability to sell TO them.I don't think google places is that big in the UK but cant confirm this.
