Over Optimization Penalty Launched Today

Those ranking changes seem NOT to be final. So just relax and check rankings again in a few days.

There is only one page affected of mine.

First all Rankings went from 1st and 2nd page to 100+
later 2-3 keywords went to 40-60
now 1 keyword is back to page 1, the rest is between page 1 and 100+

some weird inner pages are ranking instead of the related inner page or homepage

Looks like Google is currently changing a lot. And I guess all will be "normal" again in a few days with most sites getting their rankings back.

My two best performing sites have been smashed as of 5 hrs ago. Im in Australia. Are there any other ANZAC'S that have been smashed over the last couple of hours/day.

I am not in Aus but my main money site is for the Aus market. it just got wiped off .com (was #10) but is still top on .com.au . I was thinking maybe the update was only .com. Are the sites you are talking about ranking on .com or .com.au.?

Two of my sites disappeared from page 1 to 100 or more today.
I have not used scrapebox or any blog network to build links and no spun content
or duplicate content. I have noticed this change before and then my sites came back stronger,
I hope this will happen now too. My new small niche sites didn't got its ranking decreased, very strange.

nothing is stabilized yet. Whenever I check my rankings for related kws, it gives me a new number. (this is my Whitehat site with original content and decent link building) BUT my smaller sites (being on WP) have all disappeared for now. Lets see how it goes further.

From what I understand from Matt Cutts article, is that they recognized Spun content, that are used for backlink building.

Not sure, if everyone realizes, what that means, if G. gets that really working.
No Black Hat Submitter software will work anymore !
As they all rely on Spun content.

Maybe these massive fluctuations are temporary, sort of a scare tactic to push BHers to fix their websites.
Some results are way too strange (i.e. query "make money online"), I don't think they are going to last long.
