Sites Gone? Google Update? WTF

it sounds like all of you experienced the google dance and created this thread out of thrill...i could be wrong, but sites come and go everyday and this is the best explanation for this, unless google comes out with a press release in the next day or two with another update...

I think your way off base here. Stable sites don't just drop from #1 to #1000+ over night and come back a day or two later like nothing happened. I know sites go through the google dance sometimes but this was more like the google mosh pit...

Yep, do yourselves all a favor and read up on the mainstream seo websites (seoroundtable, etc) and see what the chatter is all about. Apparently some flags were turned on for the "overly seo'd" filter for websites and many quality, and not so quality, sites got dinged badly. You could probably correlate that to the Adsense review team who has been on a banning spree as well. Google's engineers base quality control routines on metrics, and the index has a ton of metrics to provide at any given moment. Granted, it takes time to generate those metrics, but once they do, they can break down what the algo adjustment is doing in pretty close to real time.

Take all of what I just said with a grain of salt ;)

Back again - but on the third page. No problems as long as it's back. I'll just keep adding good content and diversify links. Screw it.

Awesome, you are obviously ranking extremely non-competitive terms despite their search traffic,
In other news, my sites that are all on non-competitive terms have all increased too... really ... what's the point?

Do you even pay attention to anything in the ultra competitive pharma/finance/insurance/lead markets? or just want to pretend your private network is so awesome that people buying up 17,000 blogposts/mth on fully private networks just don't know how to play the game?

I'm curious... because I have a wide range of custom bots running on my sites, doing things you couldn't even find a service to do for you, and yes they all benefit... so what?
What's changed, and what's been destroyed, are all of the high profit, ultra competitive markets. Not a single site in the top 10 back in Feb is still there... across the board. Not unless those sites are huge brands (progressive or statefarm etc)

Thanks... your link building strategy isn't special, believe me, at all...
Everyone can afford private blog networks, and if it was just a matter of building your own, I'd have 1000 domains with PR3 or higher by next PR update.

I've built 2000 high PR (PR4+) ******** links by comments + one of my sites has over 3000 higher PR blog posts, from fully private networks, and around 200k active web 2.0s in a pyramid (not built with a crappy tool like SEnuke either).

That site is still being outranked by sites with 1/100th as many links and crappier quality ones... this niche is ultra competitive though. How I've gotten my site to recover (it was not penalized) from its Feb drop is stupid, and shouldn't have worked, but it did.

Excuse me... I was trying to tell people they will be ranking again most maybe , and it seems I was right.
And I am not promoting my service, I don't have any private blog network service which you claim is MY PRIVATE NETWORK.
And my keywords are not easy as YOU claim, you don't even know them.
I was just posting my results from the Survey I have just taken, duh. Please think before you talk as you simply haven't read my post careful as I see.

If it was really over-optimization - google removing sites that contain what they are about too many times, yea sounds real smart. The search results have become too relevant for the search - let's make the top 10 results only sites that do not contain the word people searching for. I think someone overestimated their intelligence or that of the gbot.

So after this current "dance", it seems a bunch of EMD sites have come back to the top again. Go ahead and google Car Insurance Quotes..what do i spy? Yup, someone's wordpress site with an EMD

If someone enters 'word', 'word.com' should come up as a result...period. Unless it is an expired or non-hosted domain, in which case you can put it around the third page. Seriously, how can word.com NOT be the most relevant to 'word'. Or does the google staff really think they can determine which site is most relevant to the search with their 0.00001 second processing time limit per page/site.

I always tell guys to think long term in this game. These dances come and go and will come and go again. Just build your links. I remember not a long time ago sites being deindexed for signing up to programs such as pay per post. They still came back. Just know what you're selling and continue building links.

Even in at home, your sexy young girlfriend becomes your boring wife, but if you hang around long enough, she becomes your soul mate.

Did you all see the thread "Google is truly F...cked up"
In that thread the op post " Google is truly messed up. The results that it returns are shambolic. It is now showing a site with absoloutely no content (literally zero content, just the root directory) as the number one result for a keyword like 'earn online'. Absolutely ridiculous. Your take on this, have you come across any such stupidity by google in your niche?"

yes WTF

Got my old SERP again, but I hope it will INCREASE instead of DECREASE. Good luck everyone!

My site was penalized on march 23rd. I have been constantly adding backlinks and content but still nothing. I added Google webmaster tools today, and immediately upon adding my website I got the notice of unnatural links detected, in GWT, the message was sent on March 8th even though I just added my site today.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get out of this penalty? It would really help me!

4 out of 5 of my sites have recovered. One looks improved in SERPs, other 3 are about the same. The 5th one has been given what looks like a -50 penalty, and unfortunately it's a clients' site.

My plan for the future it to continue white hat backlinks, and high quality diverse link packages here in the service section.

I think google "went back in time." I dunno, but I added a keyword a month ago to my site and it was on page 3 and my original keyword fell a few ranks (only 2 or 4 down). But now my site is no where to be found for that new keyword but my site can still be seen on my old keyword.
