Sites Gone? Google Update? WTF

this also happened to me, my amazon EMD site gone after 2 month at page 1 google. wtf

Yes I agree the problem with that is I and others have new sites that are untouched even though most other factors are exactly the same.

I just created a new blog post on my affected site, changed the target keyword and used the same back link strategy as I have been. One thing I noticed is that my individual posts have a moderate KW density (around 2% give or take) but the main page has a mcuh higher KW density due to the number of posts (truncated) on the homepage. So while the posts themselves are at 1-3% the main page is at 7%!!!S So this post should dilute it a bit. We will see what happens.

Im really not trying to get off topic but this is such an exact number. How do you know?

BULLSHIT Looks like I got the -50 penalty. This is the second time. I manually build web 2.0s with one link pointing to money site then blast SB comments to them. It got me ranked, but now has me tanked. I thought I was safe with only blasting mt tier 1's. I also mass submit Article and point them to the web 2.0's. WTF

I hope you all try and get away from G as much as possible, we can't ignore them and I still mainly do SEO. But stop using them for your personal searches, tell family and friends and spread the word. The only way they will noticed is a drop in their own traffic. Hit em where it hurts.

My sites haven't been hit, and I've used a private blog network service from BHW and SEO myself.... I got my site on webmaster tools (before that, my rankings weren't so good), and on Google Analytics, my rankings are stunning, improving everyday by a lot. My site I started doing linkbuilding with only 1 service (besides blog networks) about 6 days ago already ranking top 10 for 4 KW with a total of about 125k monthly searches on Google, haven't been building a ton if backlinks, but quality ones.
My site is a custom HTML design, 1 article on it (500 words), site is not over-optimized.
My rankings are #1, #3, #7 and #8, and one of the KW can be considered hard, but haven't really checked.

One of my clients yesterday had all his sites go out of top 100 , and today they are all back to original positions and some even better. I think that some of you should have your rankings back soon, but not quite sure about that.

Looking forward to survey results....

I filled in the survey.

I have about 5 sites which were ranking. Their history as of last week was as follows

1 rankings in top 5 for several keywords...EMD............ No backlinking
2 ranking #3 for keyword.........................EMD........... high quality SEO package bought from BHW
3 not really ranking for keywords..............non-EMD..... No backlinking
4 somewhat ranking.................................non-EMD..... No Backlinking
5 somewhat ranking well...........................non-EMD.... White hat backlinking, diverse! PR1 website!!!

ALL of them have disappeared from the ranks. It's certainly not related to backlinks.
Over optimized SEO?
site 1 and 2, yes I'll admit, I put effort into SEO with them, but they weren't spammy.
site 3-4, I didn't do any SEO
site 5 , Yes there was SEO, it was a clients site, so obviously I'm going to put a lot of effort into on-site SEO, again, nothing spammy, a professional 10 page small business website.

ALL of them gone, not appearing for terms that they previously did. They are still indexed. It's a load of shite, especially recently I was motivating myself to do offline business - getting more clients for my website service. Now I feel I won't be able to deliver on ranking their site.

From my case, it looks like google found an "over SEO'd" site of mine, and gave a blanket punishment to all of my sites. I'm going to put in a question about my clients site because I put a lot of white hat effort into that. It seems like an IP banning issue..

You can still use google, just don't click on any ads...

I just notice that most of my site that I stop do anything now went up on serp. Show top 1 on 2nd page for an exact 27K search/month kw. Thing i do just spam with sicksubmiter2 on last August and stop building it for quite long time.

So what can we do to change and get our site back in google.

Lol. Yeah. That will show them!

Keep using them for all of your SEO stuff, but stop using them for personal searching. You realize that a reduction of that small in traffic is like a fraction of a spec of dust to them, right?

Give me a break dude. I get you're spiteful at them because you likely over optimized your website (which was warned not to do, not even a month ago.) But either adapt, and grow, or quit and find a different line of work man. They're not going to revert these, or any other search spam related updates. They never have, and just face it, never will.

Sit patiently and await the blog post from Google regarding this change. Nobody but them knows what was changed in the algo, and just as they did during all of the Panda updates, they will explain what you should be avoiding. TREAT WHAT THEY SAY AT THIS POINT AS GOLD, AND AVOID THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF IT.

I also lost quite a lot of traffic but thats ok. Things will be back to normal in 1 month tops. I will wait to see what's going on and then react to bring my sites back.
This thing gave me the time to actually finish two sites that I had stopped working on so there is something good about it.

There is a theory about products and how they evolve and change over time. Some people might be aware about product life cycle. The only thing these "We are Smart " updates do is create more space for competitors' products to be developed and prosper. Backlinks and SEO exist because search engines created them. Their failure to rank websites properly and stop helping sites like amazon, wikipedia etc is the reason that pushes people to try to find a way to keep their businesses alive.

7 of 8 webs are gone
just 1 left i haven't used senuke o Sb on

same here for me, few my webs are totally gone from serps FUCK BIG G !

the moral of the story is, seo is ever evolving. Continue to try different methods and stop using techniques from years ago. end of story

Found something strange i had 6 sites all on the same ip/host completely vanish two of my sites were clickbank products that was ranking for its domain name/product name with 0 backlinks from me all affs. Other 4 were aged high pr content domains that I had been adding content backlinking for years. My gut is telling me they rolled out some type of algo de-ranking based on ip possibly if one of your sites was hit for bad linking they de-rank the rest sharing the ip/nameservers.

That wouldn't really ever work. There are too many websites that are on shared hosts whom share a common IP address. They wouldn't be dumb enough to release such a flawed update that would ultimately effect non-blackhatted websites.

The most anybody here is going to do is guess at what this algorithm update targeted. For all we know? It could be multiple changes.

Just sit back and be patient. Come May we'll have the big blog post with all the changes.

THat would really suck for anyone on shared hosting (which is about 99% of people here)

I also have that gut feeling. As some of my sites which were ranking/no backlinks/certainly not over SEO'd , vanished.

Looking at the survey someone did there, It looked like hostgator were a large percent of the host used by those whose sites were punished. I just had a live chat with their tech staff, asked if they were receiving similar complaints/ seeing patterns to suggest IP banning. He said that I was the first... He also recommended a class C IP, saying that google treats them differently. I don't know what class my current server IP is, but if all this doesn't magically fix itself in the next week or 2, I'm going to upgrade and start afresh/major clean up of sites...
