Tools for Private Blog Network

Greetings fellow IMers.

I have done much research lately on private blog networks. I have learned a lot and am about to take the plunge.

Here are some general questions I have:

1) Are anonymous nameservers needed when u have private domain registration?

2) I am thinking of using WP multi-site (with domain forwarding) along with multiple ixwebhosting accounts and their 15 IP plan. Do you see any pitfalls to this strategy?

3) Is there software available to quickly manage 100 + blogs across several webhosts?

4) Are different c-class IPs even needed if the sites are not going to be interlinked?

Has anyone tried this?

yeah thinking of setting up my own blog network too. maybe JV with 2 other guys to split the costs. start up with a 10K fund. i think one can find a PR 2-3 expired domain under 50$. couple that with hosting and setting up expenses, maybe hire a VA to balance the workload and i think a network of 250-300 blogs with PR can be achieved under 10K.

It would be great if a Pro here at BHW can start a thread with a detailed guide on setting up a blog network. Calling all PRO's !!:horn:
 
The days of this type of blog network are dead IMO. Who uses SEO hosting besides blog networks? That's a giveaway. I would plan to use cheap hosting from different hosts.

What is SEO hosting in this capacity other than dedicated IP? Having a dedicated IP is a giveaway of some sort? I plan to mix a few different hosts into the mix. I don't believe that private blog networks are dead. I do NOT intend to sell links on the network, it will be for my links/offers.

I think he's referring to the host ip range. And nameservers, etc. I'm sure google has a way to easily tell if it's from known popular seo hosts.
 
To manage the blog network you have several option :


AMR
XmarkPro
 
Pay for custom tools and expect to spend a few hours a day working on the network

Its not just stick up Wordpress and rent a few ips at all, if you have a single footprint the you will end up with being hit by google

We must spend about 200-500 a month testing and purposely getting domains flagged by google to see what's a footprint and what isn't, people who think its only down to interlinking are talking out of their backside


Getting sites live is very much the easy part, keeping them up and running is a pain in the arse, and making sure they actually help a site get ranked is a completely different story

Is using wordpress multisite too big of a footprint? Should I develop something custom? Anything to look out for regarding the footprints other than the obvious?
 
Hire a coder and build something that you need then tweak it to what you want

Do not rely on tools that you have no control because they break from time to time and these leaves you with a network that you cant update or post to, thats my own experience of running networks for a long time

I can't really comment on footprints on a public forum as I own a few networks so Im not going to help out the guys who like to take money for shitty private networks and wonder why they get deindexed a few weeks later

Cut a long story short, you have to think of absolutely everything, from host to themes, to software, names, writing styles and so much more

This is the kind of information that I need and am willing to pay for. As long as Google can't see unparsed .php, then I will come up with some shit that will leave them scratching their heads. Let the games begin!

Save a budget to waste and test with it and expect to lose sites if you don't then you're not testing enough

Cool. So you are saying wordpress is out? Or just multi-site? Wordpress vs. Custom PHP script pulling from database? Would love to spend 10 minutes on the phone with you :)
 
Im not sure I understand why someone couldnt buy hosting plans for 10 or so hosting companies and start their own network with some old high pr sites? can someone explain why this would not work? i page,fat cow,just host all under 5$ a month? all separate servers and ips ??
