I'd like to bring the issue of the constant kiddie-attacks on Matt Cutts to the staff's attention.
I've noticed an increasing trend of some seriously disturbing talk about Matt and the omnipresent "matt cunts" that people keep using. I even spotted someone, albeit sarcastically(I hope), talking about getting some money together for a hitman. This is VERY VERY serious stuff and if the wrong people read it there WILL be trouble.
Legal issues aside, are we a bunch of angry *chan-kiddies or are we serious business professionals? It really makes me ashamed to be part of bhw every time I see someone say "matt cunts".
It's really pathetic. He's just a bloke working for google. What is it some of you people expect from him? Do you want him to allow all spam and lose his job? Do you want google to change their policy and allow spam? You realize they'd crumble within the year. If they did start allowing spam then you'd STILL moan, because you wouldn't suddenly just magically rank, you'd be competing with the millions of other spammers.
The way people talk about him really does remind me of a certain *chan that I won't mention because we don't want to attract their attention, but it's EXACTLY how they talk about people.
It's becoming increasingly socially acceptable on blackhatworld for people to badmouth Matt. He's just a guy trying to succeed in life like any of you. This isn't what business is about. You don't see Bill Gates call his competitors "cunts" etc.
I'm creating this thread because a lot of what becomes socially acceptable on a forum is down to the masses as a whole since the staff are so few and can't stay on top of everything. When it becomes unacceptable to act like a spoiled brat people will stop doing it because they'll realize they'll start losing rep etc.
Right now what I'm seeing is a lot kiddies jump on board and back each other up engaging in rants about Matt and none of the senior members pipe in to say it's not cool.
bhw is generally a very positive place and I don't like to see crap like this drag the forum down as a whole, so I've shared my thoughts with you all here in the hope that those who regard this sort of behavior as unacceptable on bhw voice their opinion when they see it and use the report button so the staff can deal with it if they decide it's something they also definitely don't want to see on the forum.
