IN BUSINESS: Reputation management

Yes deff take care of the customer or else we'll all end up doing reputation management for ourselves. :P

I want to thank 7878 for giving US the motivation to try it out.

I decided to use a completely diff system than his because it helps my client to gain a list while getting reviews. And it enables the manager to follow up with complainers personally.

It's hard to hate someone that personally calls you to apologize. It's the ultimate damage control. :)

Great strategy and a goldmine thread. Thanks and rep.

Keep up the good work. There are many ways to make this kind of $$$ with some creativity. Don't stop moving forward and you'll continue to grow your business.

That's what I call a real Offline marketing, with a consistant strategy, a solide upsell system... CONGRATS!!

Congrats!!! I am in the process of getting my letters together. Reading stuff like this further fuels my desire to hurry up and get started.

Well done on your first.

I like your on the spot idea via there mobile phone, (lets hope they have good 3G though).

I am curious of the texting aspect, how are you going to work this? Bad review texts are collected and go to the owner but the good reviews how will these get posted on the review websites as it is just a text?

Go have a beer before you reply!

Both good and bad reviews through text messaging come to both us and management. The manager replies directly to any bad reviews and we post all good reviews online ourself using our "network".

Really, accepting reviews through text message doesn't change much in the process, it only makes it easier for customers to leave reviews which allows us to respond in real-time. Mobile reviews are the future of Rep Management. You heard it here first. Good luck!

We sent another 30 FedEx envelopes tonight. They cost $1.30 each and the post office usually returns three or four per lot. Sometimes depending on the Post Office we send the envelopes from they will send a few back. They usually write a note on the package saying that we can't send FedEx envelopes to the United States Post Office but we know we can.

So we've been splitting the envelopes up and not sending them all at the same post office to try to reduce the amount of returns. Like I said we usually will get three or four back out of every 30 to 50 that we send out.

Wow, really great ideas here. The instant reviews are an awesome thought.

I'm curious, with your text message reviews, of course this allows instant communication with the restaurant owner and the customer, but what I find is the most important part of ORM is the publicity of good reviews. Do you have some sort of API set up to publish the good reviews to review sites? Or do the text reviews never get seen by anyone but the owner?

On a side note, do inform your client how to spell "management." ;)

We take the good reviews that are sent in by text message and we post them using our own network (staff). Like I said before, text message reviews doesn't change the process that much it just makes it easier for customers to leave a review and it allows us to monitor them in real-time. Real good stuff.

awesome dude!

does your 3k plan just only include this mobile site review deal thing?
did you send out all your mailings using the 7878 method?

any other things to add about how you closed the deal in person?

Our service at this level includes both a mobile optimized landing page for submitting reviews on your phone with an Internet connection And also through text messaging for those people who don't have Internet on their phone or just like to use texting.

Any bad reviews go straight to the manager so he can deal with them directly and the good reviews are posted at popular review sites online through our staff using our own network of providers. We also produce these really nice-looking 3 x 7 cards the business leaves around at the restaurant asking for reviews. We also threw in a mobile VIP club for this client that allows their customers to sign up to receive discount coupons and more through text messaging.

We also agreed to produce some videos for the client that we're going to use to rank them online. We've agreed to do this for the local clients that are in our town.

Congrats !!!! great way to creak it :)

It worked for you, will not termed you lucky. If any process followed shows result its the sucessfull strategy other wise a hard luck :)

Best of luck!!!!!!

rep'd x 4 for providing that golden info. many would be reticent about sharing. thank you.

So you went the "network" route huh. Everything you've mentioned so far QR code, mobile landing page etc. is brilliant, but the SMS text is throwing me off. Seems like a lot of grey/black work to use your 'network' just to allow people to do a text review.

BTW - finally got a call today. Waiting for the meeting. Woot.

Post office will deliver items in fedex folders? I thought they did not allow that.

Yes, the post office will deliver FedEx envelopes. Every now in then we will receive a few back but most go through. We sent 31 this week and only five came back.

Doing great buddy!

I do agree when you said flamers will always be there -- they always will be. They are too disillusioned that making it is "Get-Rich-Easy".

Apparently, its not.

Kudos to you for burning bridges behind you. :D
