1) The threshold for having a $5.00 gig could be made higher than even a Sales thread. 100 "quality posts" minimum, $50.00 deposit (aka "tuition") to offer gigs, and forfeiture of that deposit if/when the Vendor gets banned.
2) One reason why I trust BHW for purchasing services online is that I have some recourse (the "Shitlist") if in the event the deal goes bad and it's not my fault. This security is MONEY, and BHW is about money, and should take advantage of this opportunity.
3) Fiver has some kind of "attractive" quality; it has a natural draw. People want to go to a place where the know they can "get things" for $5.00. Note the existance of the various stores like "Dollar General" and "The Dollar Store", etc... People (customers) could come here for the $5.00 deal, and stay and maybe become paid members for other reasons.
4) People (vendors) would come here for the same reason. They may start off with facebook likes or girls with big boobs holding-up signs, but after being a member, connecting with other members and learning serious SEO, they might "graduate" to doing IM that is much more sophisticated, and purchasing the services offered by vendors that are already here. i.e. this is a potental brand-new revenue stream for vendors that are already here.
5) "Policing" transactions will obviously create additional load for Staff, so the introduction of revenue sharing in each transaction creates funding to pay a nominal amount for new forum staff to oversee the new effort. This could also be a "training area" for new forum staff so that they can demonstrate who & what they are for possible consideration for promotion into "site-wide" staff positions, i.e Moderator, Super-Moderator, Administrator, etc...
This $5.00/gig is not a competitor to Fiver, my idea is more along the lines of "internship". You do real work, for real money for real people and see how real IM really works. You get a lot of experience and education, and just a little bit of money so that you get the idea that the more you do, the more you make.
The primary deficit in my educational experience was that the schooling never made a clear connection between performance and reward. At some point, getting an "A" doesn't mean a damn thing. I'd rather have a "C" and $50.00.
Given the "entitlement mentality" that seems to be a disease that has infected the entire planet, my thought was that there was a signficant percentage of the world's population that would greatly appreciate the opportunity to learn about the connection between performance and reward, as it seems the world's governments are teaching them the exact opposite. This is why I present this idea not as a money-making effort, but rather as an educational endeavor, that would have a secondary benefit of making BHW and it's members even more money.
BHW could create a secondary site, with an .edu. Just think what BHW.com could do with a legit .edu site?
