IN BUSINESS: Reputation management

I want to thank 7878 for giving US the motivation to try it out.

You're welcome. ;)

Our system has changed drastically since the beginning as well - it's much more automated and everything is done on the spot now instead of after the fact using cards/flyers/giveaways to get customers to comment. The system will always evolve but the core concept remains the same - put in the effort, make a standout initial contact, follow through, profit. Congrats on your success thus far.

Congrats mate! :) reputation management is cool :) i have one client also for this kind of niche, but its person he need all positive results in top10 pages on Google for hes full name! Also have contract on 3 months, and if i done it i will get another contract for 13 months more :)
Good lock ;)

Congrats! I'm looking closely at the reputation business model for the UK.

I think that securing that level of contract for what you call a "large restaurant" is a big achievement and gives an indication of what is achievable, and hopefully scaleable, with larger businesses.

PM'd you 7878.

Can anyone recommend a good urban spoon review vendor?

You're welcome. ;)

Congrats. Those are great numbers! I must tell you, I'm having some issues myself. I just mailed 80 something letters out and havn't got 1 call 2 1/2 weeks. I've started following up, but I really expected a better return on my 40+ hour creation of the letters. I used transparent letters instead of lumpy maybe that was it. My letters were damn good and personalized though. Legit website, legit cards, legic company in general.

Disapointment, but grats to you man and thanks for sharing some of your tips.

Well done on your first.

I like your on the spot idea via there mobile phone, (lets hope they have good 3G though).

I am curious of the texting aspect, how are you going to work this? Bad review texts are collected and go to the owner but the good reviews how will these get posted on the review websites as it is just a text?

Go have a beer before you reply!

Wow, really great ideas here. The instant reviews are an awesome thought.

I'm curious, with your text message reviews, of course this allows instant communication with the restaurant owner and the customer, but what I find is the most important part of ORM is the publicity of good reviews. Do you have some sort of API set up to publish the good reviews to review sites? Or do the text reviews never get seen by anyone but the owner?

On a side note, do inform your client how to spell "management." ;)

At 2 1/2 weeks I was pretty frustrated too. In fact the place I got. I went in to physically leave a packet and ask for manager and owners name.

They called back over a MONTH later when they finally got around to reading it!!!

Then a meeting and then a follow up meeting a week later to a sale.

I didn't try lumpy because I was trying the FedEx method. I'm going I try lumpy because I do want them to at least receive the package AND read it.

Don't get discouraged. It's just a numbers game. And keep those prospects in the pipeline!

I'm manually checking and sending legitimate reviews (that have a log thats dated) to a service provider that offers to post them.

So no it's not automated yet. But I'm sure it's only a programmer away to get it almost fully automated.

Ps they're going to a mobile optimized page. Won't hog a lot of bandwidth. One small image file and some CSS. (It loads fast.)

No I'm using a service provider for now. As I make more money I will start to scale up and try and automate more.

Ps your posts always make me laugh!
As long as he pays he can spell however he wants! lol As long as it deposits.

Great job, OP! The twist with the text message and mobile landing page is real nice. I'm sure people would be more likely to leave a review using their mobile especially nowadays.

awesome dude!

does your 3k plan just only include this mobile site review deal thing?
did you send out all your mailings using the 7878 method?

any other things to add about how you closed the deal in person?
