This is a great method, and I've been doing it for a while, however, the problem is whenever I try to post to blogs or forums that are related to this topic, my advertisement always gets deleted. For some reason, I have an incredible amount of trouble constructing a link that won't get deleted. It seems that no matter how "friendly" I am, my personal link is always advertising and is blocked, so how am I supposed to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

is your domain long? maybe the niche you picked is very competitive? are your comments real? did you read the content through and through?

What I love about the method is that there is no SEO required, which is all I seem to be doing lately, so I wanted a short break where I could see some quick results.

I have been taking action with this method for the last 2 days full time, so about 15 hours into it now.

Also during this time I have managed to read every single post in this thread. The number of people asking about "I chose the weight loss niche" and "what about panda and the sandbox?" were killing me and I almost skipped to the end, but I stuck at it as I wanted to read other people's results.

My thoughts so far:


Domain and Hosting
I had the hosting already and bought a domain with the owner protection from NameCheap for around $9.60, that's a pretty damn cheap price to try out the method, as it wouldn't even get you 2 gigs on fiverr in SEO land! Those complaining about "can I just put this on blogger?" need to get real and work out whether IM is for them if they are not sure if they can risk $10 trying out a method (or about $15 with a month of hosting included). Keep in mind that this is the TOTAL price of testing, there are no must-have tools or extras that you need to buy.

Niche & Products: I'm really not sure if I have chosen the best niche as I should have looked more closely at the quality and volume of products available (it is within the Health/Fitness market, but not weight loss haha). Keep in mind though I have only been going through Clickbank (due to the high % return) and may look at physical products too. However, I get a tonne of relevant alerts which is why I love this niche.

Posts & Visitors: I have made 58 posts in total to blogs/news/forums, these have mainly been in the last 24 hours. I make only high quality posts relating to the article, so this post volume isn't massive at all. At least half of these are auto-approve or forums. I have received a total of 24 unique visitors to my site so far (however I forgot to add the Analytics plugin on Wordpress until mid-yesterday, so missed a few I am sure). I don't trust my clickbank stats at the moment as they are showing 30 hops over, I think that it may be much less though. Either way, 24 uniques on day 1 or 2 of a small site is unheard of using SEO methods.

Wordpress Theme:The Wordpress theme was killing me for a while. I may have taken the wrong approach and went for professional looking review site, however have now calmed this down and made it look more inviting as though it is from an individual person. I have made a few modifications to how I worded my reviews and also padded them out a bit, I will continue to refine these as I pick up more information.

The review templates linked somewhere in the first 5 pages of this thread is what I have used, however next time I would choose something different as these had a few bugs.

Where Next?
I have a few more days left to go at this full time, so we will see if traffic continues to grow, which I expect it to as I am slowly building up the number of links to my site. Hopefully there are some conversions coming soon too. I also have some general information on the niche that people would find interesting, this would just be something that they can read as a freebie which would help add to my stick rate and also if I put it front and center it may make the different between a moderator accepting/denying my comments.

Adsense is a waste of time with this.

As the traffic is so targeted, you'll make a LOT more if you're getting paid per sale than per click.

It will convert very well and after a while people will naturally start linking to your site as it will be in their mind after seeing it on a forum/blog/wherever.

It's all about the direct traffic initially, but after a while you'll get a ton of links and traffic from other sources.

How much time do we need to reply for each niche if we have like several websites ?
is there any automated way to respond back to those alerts ?

I am no meathead, but I will give this question a shot.

The big advantage of having a niche specific domain name is because it will have an increased stick rate when you post comments.

Let's say my niche is dog walking, I then comment on an article about dogs and insert my URL.
Option 1: dogchainreviews (dot) com
Option 2: reviews (dot) com
Option 3: reviews (dot) com slash dogchains


Option 1 will have the following results:
- More likely to be approved as a comment
- More likely to be clicked on by viewers, as they see you have a site dedicated to the traffic

The key here is that your link needs to look appealing, as you are relying on it catching someone's eye, rather than other methods involving SEO where Google is telling the user that your link is relevant.

I understand that you may want a generic name to cut costs over multiple niches, but it may work against you in click volumes and the post stick rate.

I would for sure invest in a .com for the reasons mentioned above, the .com extension is the only one that average joe internet users remember.

Meathead....excellent method that you shared with us all. This will give a good, solid start to those that are looking to get something going in a short period of time.

For those that are having difficulty:

1) If a certain niche is not converting well for you, then be prepared to move to a different, less competitive niche. Remember that focus is key here in this process....you always want to target those that are literally on the brink of buying a product. CONVINCE them of your success with that product and then drive them to it.

2) There are literally thousands of products to promote. Do plenty of research on the CPA product itself and compare it to other competing products. You may find that you are promoting the one product that your targeted traffic is frequently being told NOT to buy(know your competition).

3) If you are getting good traffic but few or no conversions (you will know what constitutes good conversions by doing your product research), then you know that you are not CONVINCING your traffic to move on to the product page. A good product will always be able to sell itself, especially to those that are desperate and looking to solve a problem or need(your targeted traffic).

There have also been a lot of good posts here on some tweaks and twists to try. Give those a shot once you are comfortable following the OP's outlined method. Most importantly don't give up! This method is providing success for many BHWers!

Awesome strategy! I've already got some review sites and am in the process of building more. I've never actually used Google Alerts before, but you can bet I'll be testing this out and using it going forward (already set up some alerts for one site).

I've just begun building a WordPress website that I intend to keep long-term. I've designed almost every aspect of it, and am the kind of person who takes great pride in my work (Meaning no half-assing or direct ripping), but since this is becoming quite the thoughtful, serious, time-consuming project, I'd like you to check it out so that I could have your input on it before I end up finishing it. This way I can make sure I'm not building a poorly optimized website that I'm just going to have to go back and change around completely.

I've just begun using Google Alerts. I have a TON of them now, and have only recently started to post my comments on them, so I can't give you any feedback yet on how my traffic is affected, but they're obviously niche specifically targeted.

I'm sure you're very good at what you do, so I'd really appreciate you giving me just this little bit of personal time so that I can improve my chances of success.

Just by commenting on a few blogs, I've gotten 6 unique visitors to my website. Not bad, considering that I set up that alert two days ago, and wasn't at all the first to comment. Time to continue the trend, though I'd still like your professional opinion of my website if you'd be so willing.

It seems to me that this method requires a lot of computer organization skills... personally I'm working on getting better at that, but still have folders, bookmarks, files, etc scattered all over my computer, and I can only imagine how quickly out of control it could get with joining and posting on multiple forums in multiple niches...more user names, posts, passwords, urls etc to keep organized.

How do you keep yourselves organized with all this info? Any suggestions in this area would be greatly appreciated!

Meathead stated in his initial posting that he doesn't recommend a .info domain, but that you should try your best to get a .com.

.info domains look cheap and crappy, and in are the worst thing for your business in the long run, both when it comes to making a good impression on potential customers, and if you ever want to sell your website. You won't get nearly as much with a .info.

I think it was mentioned earlier, you might want to have a look at RoboForm, it will help you keep track of all your logins/bookmarks. Its system of identities can be useful to save time as well (auto form-filling, etc..).
For your problem of folders and files you can try a mind mapping solution like mind manager or freemind for example. Linking charts and folders/files together can be powerful when your projects are becoming complex but I believe this method doesn't require anything this complicated.

Thanks to Meathead for this super simple method! I have been using the Google Alerts method of finding places to post a link, over the last couple of days, for a site that I have had sitting dormant for a while. I have already seen some good results. I now plan to fully utilize this method, by building a new review site and focusing on it for the next couple of weeks. I'll keep you updated with my progress.

To simplify even further would something like this work simply using your amazon associate product links in your comments? That way you could start without a website and start generating some income.

Does anybody know if amazon will be against this and also will most of the sites you are commenting/posting on allow you to put your amazon affiliate link? If not then would a simple redirect work?

I doubt this would work. You'd have links removed all the time.

The idea of a review site is so that you appear impartial and non-commercial in your intent. This is far more likely to get past moderators.
