Edited: Its supposed to be $280 not $140, made a mistake.

The goal-Hit $280 a week, similar to a part time job, but obviously its slightly lower.

The pros: You can work at home, and work more on your blog or website.
The cons: You may have to do other things to pay the bill besides this writing gig.

Reason: I decided to become a better writer, by paying myself and getting the skills I need to enhance my blog. (Main goal- the blog)

Alternatives: If you have established credit, you can buy and sell stuff of course, but doing those things if you have no money to begin with, is a huge risk.

Anyways, moving on. I started this my writing yesterday, exactly wrote 4 articles and got paid on 2. One of my articles was rejected, and the other one is pending for review.

Worse case scenario: I increase my skills in copywriting + content marketing, and actually start from the money earned to pay an actual thread of my services on forums, like this one.

Portfolio: Is my squidoo account, and people can see before what my copywriting skills are like, before purchase. Or check out the profile on my iwriter account.

Understanding law of averages: Shoot 20 at least get 10.

Source: iwriter, forum threads of services (build your rep at the same time)

Todays earnings: $3.24

What are you thoughts on this?

Have you tried your luck at fiverr?

Some other places to offer your service : freelancer.com, odesk.com and fiverr

The problem with these freelance bidding sites, is your exactly not sure even if you provide work as a portfolio of reference, people will hire you.

Your screwed either way, because of 100 of competitors. Which is why some people quit odesk, elance all together. Buyers, will see the cheapest amount, and will reside someone in india. (no offense to people in india or indian)

Thats because Indians have skills, at least the ones I've seen, and they seem to not mind working for 5 cents an hour...

Odesk.com is the wat to go.... i find the quality of content their much better than fiverr

how about writing and sending your articles to newspapers
peter parker! spiderman! oh that was photos, sorry

Ugh. odesk is pretty awful.
If you live in the US you'd be better off just doing some work in the real world and then starting a services thread here.

good luck with your new venture OP. i see that you used the term "law of averages". is this a reference to jim rohn? :)

Its sounds good, you need to start somewhere. I am yet to fully selling services.

For selling service u could pick BHW, WF etc.,?I guess u could earn more than that if you provide quality service.
