Well i came accross this article :
Many of you are freaking out, but i'd like to remind you a few facts :
1) SEO is all about updates, innovating, adapting, and reacting, so it is useless to say "SEO is dead" "X tools is dead". If you have a proper set of tools and you know how to use them, you'll understand that you'd have a thousands ways to use them properly according to the newest trends.
2) Google is not as free as you think. They do know about backlink spam and even Matt Cutts which claimed many times that it is useless well finally confess that it has been working more than well in the last conference. Backlinks remains a metric factor to evaluate the popularity of the website. They may reduce a bit more this factor's value but they can't remove it. Otherwise you would have some unknown website at the top and the big companies will be behind. On another hand, backlinks just can't hurt badly a website. Otherwise, they will turn Google as a battle field and that's something they really don't want.
3) Their way to adapt to us is to use a semantic analysis of the content. Well to be honest, i thought that was Google Panda was about already haha. So no surprise here. They want you to use synonyms more than a keywords. Basically instead of using within your content, netlinking anchors, and external anchors the very same keywords, you would need to define within the first place a set of related keywords which will emphasize your main keywords.
4) I noticed that they are using the PageRank and authority trust way more than before. The updates occurs way more often that it used to be. Last years i believe there were around 3 4 PR updates which is already reached in 2012.
Google may be stupid sometimes, but it is a stupid robot with a plan. They don't change the rules of the game out of the sudden, it is always a long run process to apply updates and always relevant to the previous update.
So, it is all about semantic concept. So yes it will change a lot, but if you have worked properly already you may bypass the side effects of the update.
On my end, i don't claim to have the absolute truth here, and i'm still looking forward the news, articles, public release, Matt Cutts claims, and try to compile and analyse the info.
Finally, i'll release once i found the right one, a software which is able to dress a semantic concept map of the website. Those softwares are used by linguists, and they are getting more and more helpful with SEO.
The lead i'm exploring at the moment is Leximancer, but my concern is that there is no stopwords list, so i can barely read through a source code, anchors and so on. I keep digging and i'll update you as soon as i have found something relevant enough to be published.
Once again, feel free to drop your knowledges and experiences, feel free to insult me with an opinion
Basically, all of you heard that something big is going on SEO wise. I'm not saying that every words they say in the article is true, but it is more likely realistic compared to apocalyptic rumors we have all heard about.
