Bitch Slapped by Google?

I'm still trying to figure this thread out - Are you giving lectures here on working around the latest algorithm changes or are you QQ'ing because you just got bitch-slapped for failing?

I dont mean to come across an arse, but i'm struggling to find any educational value in this thread. Seems my input would seem pointless, due to the fact it was initially a cry for help, OP did a Shang Tsung by the 5th page and now hes Matt Cutts

i am facing the same issue, after getting the good position in search result , automatically site disappear from the result and gone to page 25 .

Its Linkvana. I have different sites using different networks. I checked all the backlinks from linkvana posts and all of the websites are deindexed. Now I have also heard from others that BMR experienced the same thing, however I have not seen it on my links from BMR. But I quit BRM a year ago. I believe HighPR was hit too.

I'm sure many of the private networks were hit. I think its really just a question of what percentage of sites on these private networks were taken out.

New websites come out every day and now its just a race who can rank better...do more seo and dont stop...

I used High PR Blog Networks for the majority of my backlinks and all sites affected had backlinks from these sites. One of my friends has a site that the majority of backlinks came from RELEVENT articles on NICHE Blog network sites and he still ranks BUT he still reveiced the Warning/Note in WebMasterTools.

I think the relevance of the page the backlink is found on is HUGE, no more getting a backlink into the resource area of an article.

That link is a really good share and I have already started this type of campaign to de-optimize my inbound links. I was glad to read this as it seems I am heading down the right path.

Time will tell if this campaign pays off, but I am spending night and day trying to get the scale to tip back to the correct percentage they are looking for.

I read your thread. It was a good thread.

I think people jumped on the title of the thread, versus what you were saying in the description.

I hope this is the reason for my penalty b/c it will be so easy to fix. It might take me some time to fix it, depending on what the percentage of non optimized anchor test is required and that is anyones best guess.

I am guessing its a pretty high percentage, but I am just speculating.

Article directory is also a big target in the G update. Got slapped due to this. Be careful to use AMR or similar tools in future.

Just curious if you have any evidence for this claim or are you basing your entire "fix" upon supposition?

There is very little reason to this google update from what I can tell. They are killing authority sites for the benefit of fly by night churn and burns.
I still have yet to receive any messages in WMT for the site that was hit...

My strategy is going with a diverse anchor text + a hell of a lot of links I'm seeing working right now.
And no, blog networks aren't what I'm seeing work.

I have no evidence to support what I am doing. This is my best guess at this point.

I am definitely guilty of over optimizing my anchor text so I am diversifying it now. I think it could be one of the reasons I received my penalty and if it is, then hopefully what I am doing will work.

Only time will tell if this true (penalty for over-optimized anchor text).

I think many of us, including myself, are looking for definitive answers as to why our sites dropped and for the past three weeks I have looked for this answer and I have come to the conclusion that I probably will never find out exactly the reason.

I am confident my site will come out of its penalty, its just a matter of how long I have to wait.

I have experienced a drop in my rankings due to the creation of a pay-per-click campaign. I was sending links about fishing charter in Oahu to my main page which was all about fishing trips Hawaii. When I did that the secondary page that was ranking in the organics for oahu disappeared and was no where to be found. When I created a secondary pay per click ad (all about oahu) and pointed it to the oahu page. It showed back up in the organics as if nothing ever happened.PPC will alter your organic rankings

Ppc has nothing to do with organic, I have have managed huge plc budgets for years and seen no affect either way...it's just not true and is pure conspiracy or coincidence....take your pick

this is such a lame post here. maybe you should walk the walk and actually give some advice instead of going around telling people how much you think they suck.

anyway -- to the OP.....i bet your biggest problem was links that weren't from actual web site posts but from forum profiles and comments. i had a very similar situation where i thought i was diversifying the anchor text and being "natural" but really i was using the same group of anchor texts and a lot of the links were from forum profiles that were edu! i thought that would be good, but no, it really hurt me and when i removed the forum edu links i suddenly came back to page 1 in my ranking about a week later. i then blasted with a blog network and moved up page 1, no penalty. so........i dunno what other people are trying to say here about all these other ideas. i think if your links get posted to blogs and websites as administrator posted links in useful posts that look like the admin is actually trying to spread some useful knowledge around the interwebs, your links will get counted as higher quality. it really goes back to the fact that google uses natural language algorithms to understand the level of quality of a web page. not sure if that helps you, but good luck.

I can also attest to this. I have used forum profile links because like many I wanted to give my site some link diversity. This had backfired on me. My site dropped to page two. I got it back to page one with BMR posts and ALN.
