Bitch Slapped by Google?

Over the past three days, my site has lost its rankings on the 147 keywords that I track for the site. The rankings are not completely lost, but almost all my keywords were first page ranked and now very few if any are on the first page and the important ones are on the 4th or 5th page. Suck!

No, the site has not been deindexed b/c I have checked by using site:myurl...

I wouldn't worry if I was just seeing this on a few of my keywords as I am used to seeing specific keywords that I am targeting on a campaign to bounce around and then they usually come back stronger. But to see all the keywords to get bounced down so rapidly makes me believe google bitch slapped me!

All the content on my site is original content, but I use heavily spun content on other sites that link to my site and I think one of my competitors might have submitted a spam report to google.

What type of backlinking have I done to my site?

Just about every service here on BHW found in the "Services for Sale" section and I have used SEnukeX, private blog networks, bought high pr network home page backlinks, anything and everything...

I just have never seen my site get so many of its rankings decrease over such a short period of time.

I have google webmaster tools set up and I do not have any messages from Google.

I am hoping to see some bounce back and I have given the advice to many others to just wait b/c usually the rankings come back by themselves, but I just have never experienced such a huge number of my keywords lose their rank in such a short amount of time.

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated?

Thanks!

Sorry to hear that your website got slapped by G. How fast were the backlinks being built on your website?

I had the url for five going on six years and I have built links at a fast clip. I don't think the rate of my building links had to do with the slap, I think it was a competitor filling out a google spam report.

I have a chat client on my site so if customers want to ask questions they can do so easily and through this chat client I can see a lot of information about my visitors, specifically I can see specific networks they are coming from.

Here is an example, but not specific to my situation - If a user comes to my site and they are at work behind Ford Motor Company, I can see this. Well, I was seeing a competitor checking out my links and I could see the referrer link they were clicking from and these links had a lot of spun content on them.

This is the only thing I can come up with in regards to how my rankings got so bitch slapped.

So, I guess another question to ask. Should I just keep building links like I have and hope for the best? Hope another spam report is not filled out.

I don't know, I'm still hoping the ranking come back, I just have never seen a site wide loss in rankings like I have seen in this case. If it was just a few keywords, I would jumping for joy waiting for the google whip to take effect for even higher results.

I really hope you recover sooner.

i was holding top position (#1-5) for some keywords, but suddenly every thing droped.
after few days droped 100 position....after a month "no where in top 300"....dropping seems never ending. then i took some serious measure, deleted my sitemap, and took off the site for 3 days.

now keyword is back in top 200 and bouncing (today #84). in the image you can see, for bing, that was in #1-3.

I have ordered 20 unique articles for few keywords i never targeted. (its really cheap in freelancer.com). I will post them in 20 web 2.0 and point them to my homepage. I heard this works, I will let you know if it really does.

can i have some beers too? :(

this is for you Big G:rocketwho

I think you should stop building your backlinks and wait for a week or two to see if your keywords come back to their original ranking. And try to add some fresh content on your website's blog if you have one. BTW, how long have your keywords retained those position before they lost their spots?

I can add fresh content to my blog and that is actually the first thing I did, but I will continue to add more content to my blog. I will have to wait a little bit to see any result from adding fresh content.

I have had my desired keyword rankings for about 3 months and it took much longer than that to get there. I really hope I am dancing, but nothing about this feels like dancing. It feels like a bit foot up my A$$...

If it was a just a few keywords that lost ranking I wouldn't be worried, but this is way beyond that. Its like I am having to start my seo journey all over for this site.

Did you use a lot of spun content to create links to your site?

Did you continue to build links like you had before you were slapped?

So is this a new site? I can't see where you mentioned its age, so I may have missed that?

1. yes, I used many senuke blasts. most of the where span content.
i received the "slap" 1 day after i changed my hosting. so initially i thought that was caused by my hosting provider.

2. no, i just had 12 linkpush (as i was subscribed to that) in the 1st month.
i completely stopped all linking activity

* my thought about my problem is not using different keywords and using too much span content.

I had done link pushing too at one time, but I moved on to other services as I wanted to get my links from a greater number of ips and those who use linkpushing know, you get a large number of links from the same sites over and over.

Another thing I should add, I have not been able to get any data reading in my google webmaster account. For example Links to your site - reads no data available and under Search Queries I have seen a steady decline of data as it seems no data is being pulled into the system.

i think linkpushing must be in 2nd tier links.

i have taken my site off google analytics, now using clicky
I didn't had any issue with data in webmaster account. but i feel too sad to go there nowadays :(

this is the webmaster view (Dec, 2011).

Competitor can not report you as a spam for using spun and duplicate content in your OFF PAGE LB strategy. SO, this is for sure not the case!

-----------

what i did is i currently stopped all linkbuilding and added one content (on the process of adding more). I also deleted my adsense codes and i tried to extra optimize it by adding images to all of my posts and putting seo optimized tags and alt names. i hope that this is just temporary :(

Are you sure of this?

Not sure if this matters, but I had a pretty robust PPC campaign that I ran with google and I stopped it about a month ago as I no longer needed it as my organic traffic was so much better and more profitable than paying for clicks.

I know google says your PPC campaign has nothing to do with your organic results, this is more my conspiracy theorist inside of me speaking.

I am not speaking from experience, but if you think about it, stopping link building will make it look even more spammy and unnatural to google. If you are constantly link building over a long period of time it will look more genuine than when you blast you site, then stop when your rankings drop suddenly..
