I have been a member since 2008. If you look at my posts, you will see that I don't complain, bash, or criticize anyone. My years here vs a practically brand new user should give me the benefit of the doubt. I posted this as a warning for the benefit of other forum members.

I did notice something strange that I have already contacted the forum about. His private messages are missing from my inbox, although my sent messages are still there. I did take screenshots of a few of the messages in my sent box just in case. In addition, when I search for his posts, I cannot find any. There were definitely posts before this happened on 3/5.

Serves me right? That's really an ignorant thing to say without you knowing the details. I knew the guy had virtually no history, but I didn't send him cash in a bag. I paid through PP and it was disputed immediately. For the price being paid, it was worth the risk of having to go through the dispute process if something like this happened.

What Oxon is saying is that you did not do your Due Diligence. Buying online or anywhere else you do that... if you are buying a TV, you read reviews online... if you are trying a new restaurant you read reviews online... if you are considering an institution of higher learning you read about that as well before committing.

I did my due diligence, but I wasn't able to find anything. I made a business decision. It took my 2 minutes to dispute the item and the small amount of money is not being missed.

I made a business decision and would make the same decision again. My post wasn't my crying to the forum because I got screwed. I was just trying to help my fellow members.

He tried to scam me and I reported him to a mod a few days ago. I got the reply from the mod that he was removed from the site...

Looks like he's gone now so nothing we can do, I'm afraid. Hopefully you'll win the dispute.

In future, stick to buying from approved BSTs/JVs. We can't/don't deal with disputes from transactions outside of those.
