Thank you all for your kind replies and sympathies.
Yes, it is very hard to lose such a friend however I am glad that she was taken quickly as she did not suffer in the way that many dogs do when they have a long term illness.
In thinking about it later, I realised that I was scratching the back of her head when I thought that she had gotten down to play with the other dogs who always come around to share in the affection but instead I saw that she was having some sort of seizure and in only seconds, it was obvious that she was gone.
Just that fast.
The frozen ground here prevented burial today so there are some people coming over, including a tribal shaman to help with the process as she was known to one of the local nations and much loved by the folks there.
I did not drink the entire fifth but gave it a good shot and I don't recommend doing that as the results are unpleasant.
I woke up this morning late, needless to say, with the New Queen sleeping on one corner of my bed and the Prince sleeping next to the bed. Both were very attentive and in their minds, they were offering protection and security and I suppose they were.
Needless to say, I have many videos and pix of her and may do a website as I have a domain connected with her name. If I get it up, I'll let you know so that you might share in her beauty and memory. That will take some time as I'm not ready to start looking at the images yet.
I will miss her forever.
Thank you all again for listening and thanks to ADMIN for letting me rant on!
