its been over a week. im using thesis theme, when i was setting the site up, i checked a few settings to block the search engines. when i was done, i went back in and unchecked all that stuff. tried different methods i found out here (i got 2 other sites indexed within a day since then), looked through my settings to see if i missed anything.
then i looked at my source code and took out everything related to no follow in it. no luck!

should i delete and reinstall my theme? is there anything else i should look for in the source code that may be blocking the search engines? help!!

I think you blocked search engines in wordpress in your settings -> Privacy.

Try to make visible there, and you can get indexed.

ya, i did all of that. i quadruple checked over everything i could find in both the regular wp settings and the thesis theme settings :dunce:
i pinged it with several different sites, made and pinged some backlinks, even tried all of that with my about page, still nothing in google.

i put no follow tags on the aff banners i had on the first page. i thought it was that so i removed them. is it possible google saw these in the beginning and permanency marked my site as no index?

A few bookmarks normally get a wordpress blog indexed. The domain could be de-indexed and banned from google because of the previous owner.
Did you check the domain out before buying it?

i bought it new if thats what you mean. it has 2 hyphens, the word review in it and very low competition and is a .org for a product so i doubt it was previously owned. is there a way to check if someone used it before?

Send it through Twitter - you'll get indexed fast. BTW do you have any traffic?

no traffic. are you talking 1 tweet and ping it or something or 100's of tweets?

this might not be anything new for you but writing anyway

did you check robots.txt in your host www root & domain root?

if you made your WP disallow indexing and allowed it later on the WP itself might not have rights to edit the file afterwards

This is the default WP robots.txt
you can remake it and upload it to replace existing ones

Code:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Disallow: /wp-includes/

Sitemap: ****

I actually have the same problem. It's been almost three weeks now, not indexed. I tried, bookmarking, tweets. high-pr commenting, articles... NOTHING WORKS.... its awful... Webmaster tools shows that they are crawling all the time...

what about cpanel?

Have you just registered the domain name? if it was registered before, it could be that it was once banned by Google

i couldnt find that much info on google search. so ill ask here.
i cant find it in my file manager (or does it not exist and i have to create a new one?)
about that code, am i literally copy and pasting that verbatim or do i replace something where you have the *'s?
also, where do i upload the robots.txt to? anywhere in my sites public_html or a more specific folder?
...........................
so far i submitted it to google manually and added it to google+, tweeted it once and redid some of the pinging that i did to get my other sites indexed almost instantly. still not in google but its only been a few hours. i have a feeling the robots.txt is what i need to to

you can use the archive website to check if the domain has previously been used, i can't post links but if you search google for archive wayback machine its the first one.
if you are building a website to use adsense always use the adsense sandbox tool to see if the domain is banned from adsense, search google for Google Adsense Preview Tool it should be the first one

It saves alot of time trying to get google to reconsider your site to be re-indexed or reconsidered for adsense

checks out clean with the way back machine. dont have any adsense on it.
