I agree with you 100%. Stay confident in your pricing. When any of us doubt our prices, the person on the other end can usually tell.
@Wings - The thing with a to people on BHW is that they are god technically, but not salesmen. In your case, you were dealing with car salesmen that are trained to size people up in seconds. Also, remember every business person knows that the first price is negotiable. So here are my suggestions for you:
- Know that your service provides value. If they 'test' you with something like, "Do you believe your service is worth ...", you can simply say, "everyone checks for a car dealers reputation online before they come one...how much business do you think you are losing every month because of these reviews?, and Yes, I absolutely believe it is worth more than the price I quoted, but I would like to have you as a long term client, and so I quoted a reasonable price". If they test you more about the price, say "if you are ready to sign-up immediately, I could maybe take another 5% of my already reasonable price".
Everything I have written above has a lot to do with Pricing and Negotiation strategies. Car dealers learn this and much more to make a living.
You took action, and that's great. Learn from your experience and keep improving.
Just BTW, I had an offline client crib about my 1,400 price and then I later found out that he is spending 10k+ / month on PPC. That opened my eyes, most businessmen will test you and your price before making a commitment, our part is to expect that and counter it.
Good luck and keep going!
Gotta stay confident and know the value of your service.
If they ask this "do you believe this is worth..." I would tell them "NO. It is worth a great deal more, I am pricing for value. You can, of course, go without this service, and then if things go sour you can pay Reputation Defender $~6k to get started..."
Let the snide tools stew over that one...
