Ok. I sold 204 books on Kindle last month. It was my second month. The first month I barely got it over the 100 dollar mark, but that was ok. Shit happens and there is alot of trial and error.

I intend to get it to 500 Sales this month and I intend to make over $5 a sale(profit). And I really intend to up it once I have the cash to outsource more, but right now I am creating the content myself, eating shitty food and generally slaving away until the cash rolls in. What really baffles me is this.

Why the fuck isn't Kindle more popular for online marketers?. I have a feeling it is because people want an easy ride. Its a pain in the ass to get a book together, a real pain in the ass. But now with Kindle you get it together, create a great cover, good quality content and KEYWORD the shit out of it, and you have your own little money making machine. Then one can move on to the next. Anway....

Here are a few tips:

- Make your Description like a short sales page. Do not hurry through it.
- Make your Title full of Keywords, but not spammy.
- Charge either 8.99 or 9.99 for every book. Fuck .99 cent or 1.99. Thats not only insanebut also shameful. I wouldn't buy a info product that cheap as I already know its going to be crap.
- Make a simple, professional Ebook Cover. Spell out what its about on the cover.
- If at all possible, make your cover sexy. Simply put a half-naked woman on there(yes, it still works)
- The only parts of the book you should really be concerned about is the first 10%. Treat the first 10% like its your sales page. This is what they will see.
- Fill out a GREAT author page, and put a twitter and blogger feed into it, as well as a photo(preferably by some hot girl)
- Move on to the second book the moment the first one is uploaded.


Finally(I could go on all day). Upload one. Do it properly, then move on. Do not spend more than 1 day on each book. I try to say to myself "for every book I upload, it is 30 dollars every month for a LONG TIME"

I have no idea why people aren't going totally nuts about kindle. No SEO. No Hosting. No spammers. No maintanence. NO WORK after the initial work is done. Anyway, live and breath Kindle these days. Any questions, ask them. I will do my utmost to anser them.

How do you go about getting your book onto Kindle as they can't just allow anyone to upload something for people to read, Surely not?

I have a similar question....on average how many pages of content are you making for a $9.99?

Sorry to hear your having to do all the writing yourself......hopefully your using something like Dragon to help with the typing. :)

I think you answered your own question as to why marketers are not interested in Kindle.....it's a lot of hard work, and the days of just
uploading PLR are over. Now, you actually need to be able to write, and the the book has to get approved by a human before it gets accepted. They also kick books back because of spelling and grammar errors, which many Non native English writers don't even realize they are making.

204 Kindle books last month? Whoa, things start adding up here. It's like 204x$9,99= $2,037 last month, so what exactly your business call? book seller, writer or marketer. I know a girl she write book for 9,99 or something and sell it on Amazon, now you got Kindle works for you, congrats and keep us update with more tips. I just confuse about the amount of works you do, I can't imagine if staying all day thinking about books I will write, may be a good one/month and sell for 1000 copy instead of writing 1000 book and 500 copies sales.

I've been interested in this before, but I did see somewhere that I need to get ISBN code for every book for 150$... Obviously, that was not true :D.
I know Amazon offer some kind of royalties system, how does it work? You can select 30% and 70% but I have no clue how it works. Thanks :).
 
Do you use a special template to format the book to the Kindle format?
 
I looked into writing Kindle books a while back but my main stumbling block wasn't the writing or the uploading but the marketing afterwards. Have you found that much marketing is needed or do the books sell themselves because of the subject matter?
 
what are the kindle readers looking for? is it all dating ebooks etc, or does seo matter , sports etc?

would like to know how you go about getting a kindle account so you can upload books

obviously these all have to be self written, as in your own ideas?
 
I just bought a kindle yesterday after selling my ipad, this seems like a really cool idea. I would also like to know more.:)

Why did you sell your iPad? I got the ipad2 and would NEVER sell mine! This thing is too cool. I will probably get the iPad 3 and give miner iPad 2 to my wife.

I use the kindle app on my iPad and it works fine. Apple also came out with a great publishing model similar to the app store and iTunes but you can only create the books on a Mac. And they can only be viewed on an iPad which limits things but the iPad has a huge chunk of the tablet market already
 
i don't but they are strict on accepting books unto their shelfs
 
I agree with the OP after I got my kindle I began jotting down ideas for new books.
I am almost done with my 1st one and looks like I can do about 1 every week or 2 . . .

Would be interested in finding a way to generate good reviews to help drive sales of BHW member ebooks.

Have a few ideas but sadly I'm no programmer.

Would also be great to find a way to spook the KDP program in which you offer your book free only on kindle and you get paid for each download.
 
Ok, will try to answer a few questions here.

1) Books can be any lenght. You can also use about 30% Public Domain Information, (be intillegent). So basically 30% can come from Wikipedia.

2) I design all my covers in PAINT. I get a photo and simply add the title at the top and the author at the bottom. Job done. Just make sure the photo is nice.

3) I will NEVER share any of my titles here for obvious reaons.

4) I do not do any marketing, except I really, really, really study the shit out of the keywords. Its all about keywords. I also put special emphasis on the Tags. Tags in Kindle are very important. I would basically do NO marketing. If you keyword it properly, especially the title, the book will show on Page 1 of Google search after about 6 weeks. Not position 1, but page 1.

5) Kindle are not that strict, but there is simply a certain standard. Once you hit that standard and know it, then you will get all books accepted. The only books that I got rejected were the ones with either PLR or 2 with Public Domain. I have now found a way to get virtually any public domain book accepted but to be honest,the commission is shit and its too hard work. When I start to make really big cash I am going to hire a team to get 1000-2000 public domain books uploaded. But now I really need cash.

6) The kindle readers are looking for the EXACT same stuff that Google Search reveals. Go to Google keywords and find out. Therein lies the answer to all your questions.

7) The whole 'I am not a native english speaker' thing is just an excuse. Outsource it. Copy, and paste it if need be(from Public domain). Do whatever it takes. Its all a matter of just getting a system in place.

Oh, yes, one other thing. Try to get the book to at least 30 pages. Then make sure the first 4 pages are totally insanely good.
 
I got banhammered from KDP yesterday, I was cranking $350 to $400 a month for over 12 months with with 6 books.

So Yes it still works,
Yes you need original well written content,
Yes you need a great cover

Don't use free web content or public domain

Once you do your first book the rest are easy.

Go and do it. You will bank.

I outsource the covers to designers on DP, 5 bucks will usually get you a nice cover.
