[Case Study] Blast 5 Million Backlinks to a PR4 Authority Site

So what is the current status/ranking? Can you tell us the keyword?

Conclusion of this study

First of all, I want to thank everyone who subscribed to this thread. It was a fun little experiment I wanted to perform on one of my VPS servers and I had quite a list of AAs.

The conclusion is that I you have an authority site with enough genuine backlinks, you can send huge blasts to the URL and still go up in rank for a specific keyword. Albeit it hasn't been an extended period of time yet, the results are clearly positive. (I will add an additional post if they drastically change, otherwise assume they haven't changed)

Please take this data with a grain of salt because I did not have the time to ping the backlinks, check how many indexed, how many successfully commented. All I did was use a series of wordlists (from a number of sources; even from BHW) and 6+ million comments to a single url using private proxies. So the data may not be conclusive, but I did blast 6+ million links and the success rate was on average 35%.

Lastly, thank you Kickflip. I don't want to perpetuate any bad feelings. You meant to clarify results, but I simply did not have the time to ping, check ips, etc. In the future, ill be sure to only share results if I know i'm going to check all the results consistently. If there's any data that can be taken away from this study, i'm glad it helped.

This isn't making a lot of sense. Obviously the image is a little hard to understand, and there are hundreds of reasons for why everything happened the way it did, but it appears your backlink count started dropping off even well before you started blasting according to your own posts.

If you check the image, you can see the links start dropping off rapidly the same the day the OP starts the test, on Feb 22nd/23rd. So instead of his link count going UP during the study, according to this website, his link count went drastically DOWN during his time he was blasting.

Now, let me post more important information. His site isn't the only one showing this. I checked 2 of my own sites, and also BlackHatWorld, and came to these images which show the same sheer drop offs in backlinks.

Now, the most important question we all have to ask ourselves, is where are all the OPs links? I wasn't actively building links to my websites, so the drop off was to be expected. But the OP was blasting 1million sites per day, so we should see a rise, not a drop off. It has nothing to do with you "stopping blasting" OP. The links drop off before you evens started. But it could just be a generic issue regarding backlinks being counted. This is why its so important to keep track by yourself of how many links you made.

Thats just a preliminary look.

Always interesting to see how people can misinterpret/misuse stats/charts/information. There is lies, damn lies and statistics right? :)
All these charts are showing is that whatever we are seeing in the graphs, has nothing to do with what the OP did or didn't do. Showing graphs for completely different sites that are showing the exact same drop off only shows there is some general external reason for this. (could be a change in index, way they count links, glitch in the system of the service, etc. etc.)

Did you even read my post? I doubt it. Maybe try again?

Lots of questions .. but well oh well, thanks for trying !

My Conclusion: What ?

Just checked the site again.

as you can see, the backlinks have decreased dramatically after i stopped blasting SB links. (if Kickflip ever comes back, this should be sufficient evidence to show that the SB links did post and I was not "making up data")

WQgfe

As an update on rankings. The rankings are still pretty high. The highest they reached were rank 4-5 for the primary keyword and 10-20 for the secondary keywords.
The rankings have dropped a bit (8-12 primary keyword) but that's partially due to the dramatic decrease in backlinks.

More importantly, the site has not be de-indexed, banned, etc. I'll post more updates if anything interesting goes on.

Oh yeah and if it was done manually and it took 1 second to post each backlink, working 24/7 it would take 1.90132588 months to post them all LOL

Or
8.26719577 weeks if you prefer it that way

I would go mental doing the same thing over and over for 8 weeks solid ROFL

.
Hehe I would like to see 5 million backlinks done manually.
I wonder how much money it would take to outsource that :D

i'm having a pr5 domain with me.. lol
planning to do something like what you did ;) after you're done :P

How do know that?

Why should we take your word?

I tried to do the same thing. I lost rank for all keyword. And this makes perfect sense. You cannot spam any domain to death, and still expect you won't loose your rankings. Spam needs to be well hidden.

And yes if you spam BBC site with 10 times more links than it already have, even BBC will loose all rankings. But you cannot do that since BBC probably have 100's milion links. Another reason why you cannot do that is because BBC will probably take legal action. If you ruinh yheir rankings, you are obligated to make up for the amount of money they lost.

You have no idea what you're talking about..

i dont see why you dont now make 50 or so web2 buffer sites and protect your money site - then blast those instead?

Maybe because that isn't the main purpose of this case study?

Good case study, repped.

I hate seeing case studies being ruined by stupid posts, like this one was.
