Wow! 7878's mailing method REALLY works!

Careful with car delearships, I have delt with them for 4 years and there are a lot of shady assholes that won't pay you and make excuse after excuse. Not all of course, just make sure you get money upfront cuz they're good at talking their way into stuff.

Just hit up some car dealers, I'll bear that in mind!

I'm sure 7878's method works very well. It's honest work - all whitehat. 7878 is a sharp guy from what I have seen here.

how are u accepting the monthly payments?

are they mailing a check every month?

god i hope not paypal?

applying for a merchant account online somehow and taking payments?

I use freshbooks, I have found that it is the easiest way for me to collect money from clients. Their invoicing system looks very professional and with their system you can accept credit cards, checks and even paypal...

Seems silly to screw over the guy that helps manage their online reputation. But once a snake, always a snake.

The thing, and we all know this, in general is it isn't great value for $499 month.

So I figure you've got to get a deal and a check/payment at the first meeting, otherwise the client will do some research and have second thoughts and go cold. Probably get their computer savvy nephew to do the site for $100.

Okay, can someone explain what a review funnel is?

I'm guessing a businessname+review url or something similar. I can't post my full explanation because of the filter.

If you look at it from the perspective of simply creating a one page site for your clients, then yes, it's not great value. However, that's not the way to push this, in my opinion.

What we're really doing is protecting the reputation of their businesses online, something that they haven't been able to do. My response to "do you really think this is worth $499?" would be "how much value do you place on your company's reputation?"

I wish I would have thought of a reply like this when my prospect asked me this. -_-

That's very similar to what I respond with and it works. A lot of it has to do with your confidence level as well.

Can you clarify what the Google Alerts portion of the rep management involves? I thought I had read all the 7878 threads... but I must have missed that somehow!

You set up the Google Alerts so that anytime someone mentions the business/person's name you know about it. This way you can put out the fires before they spread.

I know you sent me a PM asking this question but I'll reply here so everyone can benefit from it.

Basically what I meant by Google Alerts is you set up a campaign and include a bunch of keywords related to your client's brand/business (eg.: Gino's car dealership, Gino's dealership, etc.) and you set it up so Google will send you an e-mail or whatever when it finds anything related to the keywords you used.

This way, if it's a negative comment/review/whatever then you can deal almost instantly with it and find a solution.

But instead of keywords, can you set up a G Alert SPECIFICALLY for their Places page? (So that you'd know exactly when a review comes in?)

Thanks...

Do the G Alerts tell you if someone posts on CL with a rant in the Rants and Raves section? I am seeing a lot of businesses dragged through the muck there and it seems it would be easy to have it flagged if you knew it was there but not time effective to keep scanning the section looking for bad reviews.

you could probably use that in your packet to show them the bad reviews. but since craigslist posts expire/get flagged they dont stay in the serps do they?

And.... ??

You cant do anything if the neg feedback is left, when it's left it's left forever, you're too late. It is useless to monitor feedbacks via gg alerts.
