Re-Design Business Sites Case Study

I have same method as you but what I do Is i post it on local website ads and news paper

trying editing your widgets. Some themes have default widgets in the sidebar so if you set them up yourself you can remove the ones that are being used when u first install the theme.
Yep, just found that however Archives doesn't seem to want to leave the page :)

And have these produced any results? Tried direct mail?

I replied to your pm but someone already told you the answer. Archives is the same, drag it off and then refresh and it should be gone

This method works. Risky, but it works.

Tip to save LOTS of time:

Don't design the site in CODE, instead DO IT IN PHOTOSHOP.

Get your template, screenshot it. Edit the screenshot in photoshop. If they give you the go-ahead, time to code. :)

I've been going back and forth on this tactic for a few months now actually. It's pointless to design sites in advance when you don't know if you're going to get a response.

Why not just send out emails letting these people know that you've redone their design for them? Ask them if they're interested in seeing it, and wait for a response. There's no sense in wasting time on people that might not even open your emails. If someone gets back to you, put up a demo and send them a link.

There's an easier way to do this : use WIX.com, it allows you to make cool flash sites in minutes.

There is a thread here in BHW that details all the process.

But to me it's not a good method, people dont pay now for simple website, everybody know that they can have one for free, there are many platforms that allows to create free cool websites without any knowledge (sic)

I guess that's up for debate. People like Leith have proved this isn't always the case. Designed a few good sites, cold called & made sales. You don't get if you don't try ;)

I tried bro, made 10 sites and offered them to the business owners, they were not interested.

I dont want to loose time any more doing that, there are plenty of method that involved way less work and bring more $$$

I'm from france, I charged 200€ per site, I've targetted :
2 architects
2 restaurants
2 hotels
2 plumbers
2 beauty institutes

no results, so I quit

and there my friend, lies the problem.
i would agree that this is a numbers game. yes some people know they can make it for free, but there are also people that have a hard time connecting there computer to the internet, let alone build there own website. look at those 10 letters, switch it up, send another 10 see what happens. maybe you send 100 letters, which really isn't that many, it only takes 1 client at 500 a month and suddenly all your efforts were worth it.- just my take on the situation

Plus, you have to be good at designing websites. This day & age they're going to have a general idea of what a good website is.

Sending someone a site you've made using WIX is...well...

What proof did he provide apart from writing it on here ;)

Take everything you read here with a pinch of salt. Anyone can start a thread and say they are making x amount. I could do it now. It would get me a ton of thanks and a ton of reputation too. And that would certainly look better if I had a service to sell in my signature.

I don't believe anyone on here. No one can provide proof without giving up their sites and niches. I use it to read about methods and get advice. I then try some methods and if it works great. If not, I move on.

Absolutely. I slated him in the past for posting up thread after thread just to get Rep + Thanks. 10 sites and giving up is certainly no good, though. As someone said, it only takes a client or two and your efforts are worth it.

yeah mate I know it's a numbers game, and if it was only a matter of sending letters I would have sent a ton more, but here we talk about building an entire website with all the business owner information BEFORE contacting him, and thats much more work than sending letters...

Not neccessarily. I'll send you a link of the site for 'Plumbers' in a few hours or so. You set up ONE site for plumbers, One for Electricians and so. With 'Your Company Name Here'. Give them a link to check it out, and tell them their site can look exactly like that, should they be interested. This way, you're saving yourself a weekends worth of time.

yes but this method looses all her charm if you do so :)

The beauty of this is to make each site original with every business copied content.

With a general website I doubt you'll have conversions.
Anyway good luck, I know that these sort of things have to be tried before saying "it wont work" :D
