I hate my student loans...and wish they would suspend payments during the holidays. Could never work....but I can dream :D

I like student loans :) zero interest and you have time to pay even after 2 years you have graduated. I need to pay 1200€ but i think i will pay it in a few years if i feel like it.

Daaaamn! What country are you from? That is a pretty sweet deal haha. My student loans are at like 6% interest...and I got 40k in them.....makes me hate the version of myself from 3 or so years ago lol.

Same here i feel you. If I had to the 20K I owe and put it into IM, I would be better off now. The sad thing I didn't even go to a school with dorms. That in short means I owe 20K and had no fun spending it, and I have a good degree in something I can barely tolerate doing now. I wish the old version of me would have opted for the common sense upgrade, instead of the degree add-on pack. lol.

Tell me about it! I have a MPA but my state's economy is in the toilet, so there are like no jobs in that area of work. Luckily, I can support myself with my SEO work and writing articles, but I'm always thinking about what better ways I could spend that 400 a month on lol.

What did you and her take in college? $310k in college debt for two people is insane.

A former friend of mine has 90k in debt just for undergrand...philosophy degree . She is now racking up another 40k so she can become a social worker....FAIL lol.

I just signed a note for $60,000 in school loans, Minus a $3000 scolarship... lol...

If I'm not mistaken isn't the cheaper route is to go to a 2 year college first that is cheaper, then transfer to a 4 year college for the remaining two years? As the bachelors degree isnt the one that really counts when applying for a job, like a company doesn't care where you got your associates degree from if the bachelors is from a good university?

This true kind of. You can for example to go to a community college and get all your core classes out of the way cheap. Then transfer to a uni and get the your actual field studies there.

This will also help you if you didn't do so great in highschool because if you keep your gpa up in the first school, when you go to transfer you will have a better chance at highschool. Most scholarships look at your most recent gpa.

Really at the end of the day all depends on your ability to sell yourself. I have gotten some good jobs with my associate in my field.

Doesn't AP credits with at least a certain score in each over weigh a High School Diploma with low gpa? I know that in Europe you can apply to a college with those instead of your high school diploma, not sure about U.S. colleges.

My school loans are nearly 200k, with several of the loans originated at nearly 9%. Last week I finally called Sallie Mae, and said I was no longer going to be able to pay, at all. Shortly, they lowered 150k of the debt to 1% interest. They will do almost anything these days to prevent a default. In my state, it is very difficult for debt collectors to capture anything, making it much easier to negotiate better terms.

I feel you man. I just put some of my loans on deferment until I can find a job since I just graduated as well. IM is paying some of the bills now though luckily.

What courses did you take? $200k is a lot for one person.
