Internet Famous

Hahahahahahha Lil B is sooooo bad. But I like to listen to his songs once in a while to get a good laugh.

To OP, yup, it certainly is possible. I mean, a lot of rappers got found through YouTube. Just be unique (aka, don't try to be Rick Ross - you're username Rozay lol).

Lil B & Soulja boy? What about RiFF RaFF?

One of my personal favourites

Soulja Boy started his career through marketing himself on YouTube and other hip hop communities online.

He now has his own Facebook, if you didn't notice. http://sodmg.com/

this guy has like 200k FB fans so I am convinced anyone can become famous. no, the video is not a parody/joke.

Yep, Lil B is probably the best example I have of becoming a successful rapper by utilizing IM.

What's LB doing that SB isn't?

Lil B was actually quite clever. He made his whole "based" image and created a loyal following, like a cult following.

However there are two sides to Lil B. There is the one which is seen by the masses, the "OMG Based God, you can fuck my bitch" but there is also the side to him which shows his talent as a rapper. Look for his album called "Im gay".

Most of his songs have very deep meanings, but he created the "based" image to appeal to the masses and get spread throughout the internet. He has hundreds of die hard fans, however most people "hate" on him.

Think of him as a clever troll.

In my own opinion, it will be hard for those rappers to get well known on the music industry. They must have a unique set of music ahead of them so they can catch up easily the tastes of the audience. But just try, nothing to lose if you will.

Lol @ this thread, I was just thinking about this the other day. I love hip-hop, I've done a few of my own tracks with free beats but my setup is cheap/low quality =(...so voice isn't super crisp. My plan is to get $$ from IM then buy better sound equipment (fresh mic, preamp, software, etc) and from there it's on.... IM + Hip-hop is the formula haha

Will never happen. Has never happened. And won't ever happen. Lil B was part of a successful group called The Pack before he went solo. He knew the industry and sure as hell didnt do any internet marketing. He still doesnt have a deal by the way. LOL at the guy who said 1 in 1,000 rappers get big. Try 1 in 10,000,000.
