Average pricing for PR2/PR3/PR4/PR5/PR6?

I am looking to start my own private network - for personal use and am looking to get an estimate of the overall purchase for high PR domains.

Now, most keywords I am trying to rank are local (and I am not planing to rank super competitive keywords like porn/sex/weight loss etc.) So I believe the competition shouldnt be too bad.

Therefore, i am looking to build my network with mostly PR2 - PR6. (since I read some of you claims that pricing for PR6+ is a HUGE jump).

So far, I have browsed around on DP for a bit and noticed the following pricing (on average), what do you guys think?

PR2: $10 - $15
PR3: $15 - $25
PR4: $60 - $80
PR5: $100 - $150
PR6: $150 - $250

Now, I've only skimmed thru their marketplace listing, so I am not quite sure if those are really the 'market standards' these days. I also noticed that some domain cost higher because they are LLLL.com etc, or with 10 years domain age. Some cost lower because they are .info or whatever.

Question is, do they even matter at all when it comes to 'private network purpose'? I dont see how a LLLL domain will benefit me. Would you guys suggest asfjasfkjfasjasjfjasfas.com if its $50 cheaper etc.?

Also, in regards to domain-age, does it matter at all for my purpose?

Lastly, for a personal-use network, how many domains should I purchase? I know it depends what I want to build, but whats a general volume for a blog network.

Actually the prices you have there are pretty good I think
$150 for PR5.

$1500 for 10 PR5 domains.

Yeah, although I dont know if those prices are accurate, but if they are, its really not too bad at all.

I was thinking of buying like;

20x PR2 = $200 - $300
15x PR3 = $225 - $375
10x PR4 = $600 - $800
5x PR5 = $500 - $750
3x PR6 = $450 - $750

So I guess the total would be around; $1775 - $2975
Its a managable budget. However, with hosting / setup / labor / contents, i think it will come to around $4000 roughly.

1. Check the domain which you want to buy! From head to toe. RankcheckerDOTcom tells you if the PR is fake or not. Black listed domains are bad, too.

Use godaddy auction to find PR2 and PR3 domains (you can get them from $20 to $50)

Be very careful wehn buying high PR domains, as you must know that price which is to good to be true, then something has to be wrong with it.

2. The number of domains and their PR. Try buying few PR2, PR3 and PR4. Start your BN, and see the results. If it's not enough, then buy PR5 and PR6. Test, test, test.

3. Use unique and high quality articles on your blog network, cause google will love your blogs!

I think with go-daddy auction you need to pay around $15 extra on top of the winning bid, so it might turn out to be even more expensive?
However, at the same time, i think buying PR domain from godaddy should be safer than buying off DP?

2. Good suggestion. Now I come to think of it, i might not need PR5 & PR6 domains since I am only trying to rank keywords/keyterms locally - this will help cut a fraction of my cost.

seems a big question but would it not take a lot of time and effort to make a PR6 domian from scrath?

Can you elaborate why you think thats the case?

I was browsing around on your aff/site REVSEO and notice the following;

Look how much you will save with this example from our Extreme Membership package at only $297 a month. Individually, you can expect the following monthly amounts for the PageRank you get with RevSEO:

01 x PR7 $300 = $300
10 x PR6 $150 = $1,050
18 x PR5 $50 = $900
24 x PR4 $20 = $480
28 x PR3 $10 = $280

That?s a massive savings of at least $3,000 per month! Then you would still need to manage more than 80 relationships with websites to ensure they haven?t deleted the links you are paying for.

The estimated cost / PR domain is even lower than what I researched.

Absolutely, positively, the only way to build a high PR network is to build it from scratch...

At least if you want it to do anything.
It's relatively easy to make a few hundred domains PR2 and some PR3s, much harder to go higher than this without some really good link building.

That is way to expensive.
Developing PR6 from scratch would cost you around 5k-10k easily. that is just one domain.


I think you need to look at following:
Domain age, older than 10 year is a +
Listed in dmoz is a +
Listed in Yahoo dir is a +
that is pretty much it.
Once you acquire domain, develop it, post few new articles, 5 is enough, then make some quality new links to 5 new articles and some to homepage.
You'll be fine.

If you were seriously in this game, you could create PR4-5 blogs automatically and by the hundreds and hundreds... It would require some custom scripts (some of them very advanced) but totally possible.

However, even I am not so deeply in this game yet.
You will spend a small fortune on PR domains only to have them drop PR next update... actually, almost all of them will drop PR next update
You can get PR4 and PR5 domains for <$20 if you know where to look, granted, again, if you aren't building these yourself ....

On the other hand yes PR can drop when you buy a domain, so what you need to do is do a research who is linking to the domain, are links permanent, is there a chance that links will be removed after you have paid for the domain. It is risky.

Go look on godaddy auctions for domains selling with actual real PR. People bidding on those actually know the value of them, rather than buying from some douche from DP.

If it was as easy as spending $4,000 for a bunch of PR6s, 5s, 4s, and 3s, everyone would be renting spots on their network.

A basic real pr5 will go minimum $500 up to $1000.
A basic pr4 will go anywhere from $200-$500.
This is just off the top of my head, I haven't looked in several months.

There are so many ways to generate PR if that's what you're after, and yes, you can design custom scripts to do things that can generate it very quickly (particularly d0follow blog comments)

Building a huge network of PR2-PR3s is easy, and a fairly safe venture if you know what you're doing... and much much more cost effective than buying them (especially in the long term).

Where can I see domain PR on GD auction? I dont know if they changed anything, but I dont see them myself. I did some quick research on Google, and found that GD seems to not show it anymore, due to fake PR complaints etc.

I might be wrong about this, please advise.

If making my own network (for personal use) is so time-consuming and expensive, should I consider opting in to network such as BMR, articlerank etc. instead?

For example; ArticleRank is only $89.99 / month for UNLIMITED domains.

Will that be a better solution in a long run? Thanks again
