Whitney Houston Dead at 48 - RIP

if you think a memorial is the same as putting somebody up on a pedestal, then please avoid giving any eulogizes to any friend or family member in the future....

i don't know who you are, where your from, or how old you are. the majority of people who are sharing her memory are from my generation.....and even though her life took a tragic turn and she made wrong choices, her art was a big influence in my life

Well i put an edit in my last post cuz I am planning on walking away, but I do want to respond to you since you're a Mod and I don't want you thinking I'm running around the forum trying to troll, cuz that isn't my intention at all.

I feel that everyone has a social obligation to voice their opinions, especially when they see something that they find morally objectionable. And, believe it or not, I find the whole idea of putting Whitney Houston on a pedestal morally objectionable and I think i've been pretty clear as to why I think so. I've also been clear about recognizing the sadness and loss of it, and I don't think it's fair of other people to accuse me of indecency when all I'm doing is voicing an opinion, especially one regarding the destructive nature of our society by putting morally objectionable celebrities on pedestals.

So that is where I'm coming from. Sorry I put a bad taste in yours or anyone else's mouths, that wasn't my intention.

micheal jackson, whitney houston.....2 pop icons that were big in my generation....

the industry chewed them up and spat them out.

I remember weeping as if I lost a close family member, at the age of 27 when I heard of Micheal Jackson's death.. I don't have tears, but have a heavy heart and choked voice for Whitney Houston.

Sometimes death can help the person; the insanity that the person went through comes to an end, and all that will be remembered is the legacy; the legacy of making some of the finest music one's ever heard... Take a bow Whitney.. I've danced, sang, laughed and grew in your success. I'd wish you everlasting peace hereon.

Very, very sad indeed. RIP Whitney. We will miss you.

Real shame to see yet another huge talent has been lost.

Like most of the members in this thread she was a pop star during my teenage years, whos unique and pure voice jumped out from the tv or radio and knocked you over with its power.

RIP Whitney Houston!

Freaking PITA to search YT for anything right now, since every damn search brings up this BS. Was about to get some more content for my music channels, but gave it up after I saw that there was only gazillion Whitney Houston videos coming up.

Some of you sick bastards are incredible...Have you ever heard of karma? I cant wait to see your efforts, BST's and IM endeavors flop with a vengeance. I am making note of you assholes, you can rest assured that no matter what i will not offer you a single helping hand or support any of your services if they ever happen to pop up.

It is one thing to be cold and callous to someone who may have harmed another human with intent yet quite another to celebrate, mock or demean the death of someone who really hurt no one other than herself. Obviously she had some demons which have cost her in the end but she has enriched many lives along the way, including mine. I still remember where I was the 1st time I heard her voice, I was stunned. We lost an icon and an incredible talent, please treat this news with the respect it deserves.

Her music will live on forever!....Thank you for giving the world great music...

RIP Whitney

It's Sunday morning here and I came back to this thread to see the posts since last night. I have to say that at least the majority of the posts were well mannered and respectful. I even don't have a huge problem with those that were not necessarily as respectful as they could be but at least didn't go into indecency as some did yesterday. (Thanks again to Wiz for cleaning up the garbage).

We have truly lost a legend - one that was unique and sang some of the most powerful and moving songs I have ever heard. End of story.

Rest in peace, a true legend that I'm glad I saw in my lifetime.

The post that has caused all this ink was humorous and possibly considered disrespectful or indecency (ok for indecency) by some people, but it was definitely not insulting, offensive or what you want. Just a fun touch on a sad new.

The post in question has not challenged the pain and the size of the loss of such an artist.
I'm surprised to read threats of ban from a mod.

When Amy Winehouse died, there was a ton of humorous posts and messages from persons who wanted to monetize his death, but the censorship was not there that day.
I love Amy, but I wasn't shocked by funny posts.

I don't even mention the case of Gaddafi death, idem for Michael Jackson...
Keep a course of action, whatever the subject, or don't be so virulent. My opinion.

On that note, bye for a while.
