How to increase Alexa Rank

I've got a client who just wanna increase his Alexa Ranking. They are dropping like sinking ship ... plz give me suggestions to increase his Alexa Rankings .. need to do this urgently .. plz help

The alexa rank is an overall representation of everything there is abut a site. Mainly popularity (traffic) IMO.

So if you can get him more unique visitors who stay longer and read more pages per visit, the rank will go up. Also backlinks will be important

The easiest and cheapest way to increase you Alexa rank is to install the Alexa toolbar on as many different computers as possible, and set the website as the homepage for each of them.

Each time you go on the internet and the homepage loads up and the Alexa toolbar tracks it and assumes your surfing habits are representative of other people online.

Iv used this method myself countless times on lots of different websites, and it definitely works. That said, its not a quick fix method. You wont notice an increase in rank within a day, but within a week or two you'll start to see drastic improvement in your alexa ranking

Guys, in my research and experience, Alexa has no way to determine traffic without their toolbar. If you use wireshark or another tool you will see how alexa sends a unique id with the toolbar to their data collection servers. There was talk about them working with ISPs and getting logs but I think this is a load of bs. It is a rolling 3 month average so there is no quick fix ... simply install the toolbar on a ton of different vm's and hit them with a proxy - you will then see your alexa rank get better.

Thx dude .. I have like 10+ comupters with me .. but all of them are on same network and share the same internet .. I think Alexa will treat them as one while giving ranks
