Money doesn't bring happiness, my ass!

To quote Warbucks, "making money was all I ever cared about. And I was ruthless to the people I had to climb over to get to the top. Because I've always believed one thing, you don't have to be nice to the people you meet on the way up, if you're not coming back down again" (the audience always gasps at that).

As we discover in the show, Warbucks, in spite of his riches and success, is missing something. Maybe he heard a great sermon by some Presbyterian minister there in NYC, but Warbucks knows his heart is missing something. He knows his riches, his success, his fame, cannot find him the happiness, the satisfaction his soul longs for. "It doesn't matter how many Rembrandts or Duesenbergs you've got. If you're all alone, if you've got no one to share your life with, you might as well be broke and back in Hell's kitchen."

I take it the "Assuming you have other needs taken care of, like love and whatnot" part didn't stick with you?

You know something? When I was the one waiting in line for a food handout, I felt shame and self concious... but we still joked a bit and at the end of the process, it really made me happy that people cared enough to help us when we needed it. We're happy now - we're not struggling like we did once upon a time (and it really wasn't that long ago).

We were happy even when we didn't have much money but we were incredibly stressed. Adding money removes alot of that stress (and yes, does add another type - but in my opinion, I'd rather have the stress of 'how to I keep it going' and 'where do I invest it' vs 'will I have enough to pay rent' and 'do I have enough to buy food for this week')

Money doesn't bring happiness, the best things in life are still free.

That bullshit line was made up by one of these people:

1) An anti social rich prick who had no friends in life.

2) A monk who lived in a fucking mountain all his life.

3) A broke idiot who never had enough money to enjoy life.

If you use money as a tool to get what you aim for in life, it will help you be happy. If you get obsessed with money and that's all you think about, then it will turn you into a soulless asshole and you will die alone. That's not money's fault though. It's all about you.

Money brings happiness. At the moment I am working hard in order to make money to finally be free from the life I currently have. My most important goals are to be independent, afford my own home, control my own faith(at least the money part), enjoy life, be myself(always happy and positive) and help my grandmother(she has never had much money or freedom in life) who has helped me so much.

I once read somewhere that 90%+ of your problems are one way or another related to money. For me that is 100% true.

I know that there will be always new goals and dreams, but at the moment the freedom that money offers would make me and my family very happy!

I hear ya... I've gone from piss poor, to financially independent, to broke-as-fuck again a couple of times. Rich is better. :D

I would have agreed with you partially in context until you mentioned religion.

Assuming you have other needs taken care of, like love and whatnot, money DOES bring happiness. The more money you have, the more freedom you enjoy, to do whatever the fuck you want. The more freedom you enjoy, the happier you are, as you don't have to worry about restrictions, be they of material or other nature. Don't know who said it but "I've been rich and I've been poor. Rich is better" seems spot on.

"Money doesn't bring happiness" is possibly the biggest crock of shit in history, right up there with religion. Must've been coined by some stinking rich people, in order to keep laborers happy with their low level of wealth, so they don't try to get rich too.

Anybody tells you money is the root of all evil doesn't fuckin' have any. They say money can't buy happiness? Look at the fuckin' smile on my face. Ear to ear, baby. :D
You want details? Fine. I drive a Ferrari 355 Cabriolet. What's up? I have a ridiculous house in the South Fork. I have every toy you could possibly imagine. And best of all, kids, I am liquid.
So, now that you know what's possible. Let me tell you what's required.
You are required to work your fucking ass off as internet marketer. We want winners here, not pikers. A piker walks at the bell. A piker asks how much vacation time you get in the first year. Vacation time? People come and work in IM industry for one reason: to become filthy rich. That's it. We're not here to make friends. We're not savin' the fuckin' manatees here, guys. You want vacation time? Go teach third grade, public school.

People that say money doesn't buy happiness is bullshit, have never actually been rich.

The only thing I don't agree with you on 100% is the "work hard" part. You don't have to work hard. You have to be smart, work smarter and have others do as many of your tasks as possible, with you doing only the very essential parts, which require strategic thinking and creativity.
