if you asked me then i would say those kinds of links put much lesser value then they used to be before.i would highly suggest you to do some blog commenting & forum posting related to your niche.also try to write an unique article(with at least 600 words) or find someone decent to write for you twice or thrice a month then spun it (make it at least 70% unique) then post them in as many web properties as possible.but instead of posting them all at once drip those posting & space them out.then blast them with scrape box blog commenting & low pr forum profile links but make sure they are dripped as well to evade any Google penalization.hope this helps ,for any help hit me on skype(mine is shifatbd1).....

If you have low competition EMD then it can push your site to page one but otherwise low value. However, it should be included to your backlink arsenal as it give your backlink enough diversity.
