I had enough of all the BS that's happening in US right now. Even UK is extraditing a UK citizen to US over a TV links site that's legal in UK just because he used a .net extension. Now all this PIPA/SOPA/ACTA shit, sites being shut down everywhere, ISPs logging all the data, everyone suing everyone. Israel is now treating hackers as terrorists and if US follows, with their indefinite detention act you can literally be extradited, thrown to prison for life and tortured over a misunderstanding. We all know that law makers know fuck all about internet and technology behind it.

I'm going to move all my sites away from US and drop .com .net extensions. The question is, where should I host everything and what extensions should I start using. I was thinking .eu and Netherlands just to keep thing central. Do you think there would be a lot of latency if I was to host in Russia?

If SOPA passes, it does not matter where you are hosting.
They can still get you.
Even if they cannot get you, they will cut off all US access to your site.
No paypal.
No google.
No US search engines will index you.

It is like being deindexed from the whole internet.

Have you thought about that?
Maybe you ought to think about going legit.

Virus - I've commended you previously for your debate style, but i'm seeing a little too much running round waving hands like the roof is falling.

Can you tone it down slightly?

I dont want a debate on this with you - I'm asking nicely.

I agree OP, move everything to secure offshore hosting and an extension you feel comfortable with

SOPA is certainly not a dead cert, however best to have your interests covered now

Re the comment that you will not be on the internet, I dont get that, there is a big world out there in online that is growing every day, its not just US centric

So good luck with your plans

I don't know what's the exact reason but many marketers moving their stuff to Ukraina or Georgia.

im guessing its time to evolve and adapt to the situation like mighty suggested. not sure if the netherlands is such a great option tho cause they like to brown-nose with the USA politics/politicians.

on the other hand, those SOPA and PIPA acts are mostly related to the entertainment industry stuff and their copyrights (if im wrong please correct me) so there are lots of other niches to make money with in a safe manner right?

you think we NEED some suck things like Paypal, Google and US traffic lol . You're totally wrong.Google is not the whole internet.

Do you know LR, WMZ and yandex,baidu.......

I think you're completely a troll

Pionen in sweeden (wkileaks is with them). They're more expensive though.

My bad.

I will tone it down.

Sorry.

I speak fluent Russian and lived both in Russia and Ukraine but Ukraine just seems too unstable and unreliable.

I am legit. I hardly do any BH now days but you try and explain that to a corporate legal team who wants your ass in jail for running a website they did not like. Do you think they know a difference between spam and social marketing? They don't even know what backlinks are or how the internet works. I used to advertise with megaupload. What is stopping them from hunting me down and suing me for "supporting" a "rogue" site and treating me like a culprit?

I'm not moving because I do something illegal. I'm moving because US has gone mad and I'm genuinely worried they might mistake me for a spammer/scammer/pirate/hacker or somebody else and there is absolutely nothing I'll be able to do about it.

I've been working on the same thing incidentally...

I'm was looking at netherlands/chez republic though... where are you planning to host in russia? I dont speak any russian so can you please suggest something that has support in english?

Also which offshore domain registrar are you planning to use.. last time I checked most of them are pretty sucky.

Bro, I do not think you or your sites are in any danger.

They are not going to take down your site because it "looks" spammy or whatever.

As crazy as people make it... it will not be pandemonium.

If it passes, taking down a site will always... always have a Formal side to it. That means the people issuing the complaint will be on the line if it turns out they lied or that the site was a legit one. And there will be hell to pay for filing a fraudulent complaint with the US government.

I just think that moving a legit site, because of what the US government might do.... is plain over reacting.

I have several sites right now.....and will continue to build more.
And I have no worries nor will I lose sleep at night because they are on US servers.

You shouldn't either.

But it already is. Just read this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-16544335 Anyhow, I'm not going to argue. Best of luck to you but I'm moving.

I wonder if that guy had a DMCA or a cease and desist notice and ignored them?

Sucks for him though that they are making an example of him, I know at least 5 people from the U.K that had similar sites.

And since when did we deport people just because the U.S said they want them?

Its becoming a joke here, we can't get rid of preachers that incite racial hatred here while living off the taxpayer but as soon as a guy makes a poxy website with a few links to copyrighted material he is carted off to the U.S no questions asked!

I already wrote to my MP about that. It's a one sides law UK has with US. And the only reason why the dude is being deported is because he used a .net extension. He hosted in Netherlands and worked from UK. He has never even been to US.

Sound good now go over to prq.se to buy your domain names and your good.

They've run out lol I checked an hour ago and all powerful servers were gone. Just checked again and all medium servers are now gone too. Looks like I'm not the only one moving out after the recent events.

prq.se host the piratebay so they're good in my books.

I think China will be the host of choice for marketers over the next 3 years.
Give it some time, and they will become more popular I think.

Most of this all comes down to setup, if your totally anonymous from day 1,
from every angle (including your payouts) then you've no probs.
Hosting is only one piece of the offshore puzzle.

But there will always be some type of trail
